Photo Coverage: Christmas Has Some New Sounds At Birdland - Blackhurst, Caruso and Stritch
A Swinging Birdland Christmas is in its eighth year at the legendary club and the tradition of inspired vocal arrangements, harmonies, and rhythms by Klea Blackhurst, Jim Caruso, and Billy Stritch are being applied to a great new holiday song list.
There were performances of "Christmas Waltz, Kay Thompson's "Holiday Season," "Sleigh Ride," "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm," "Snow", and "It Happened in Sun Valley" among other favorites. The trio was joined by Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on drums. If you can't get in this Christmas buy your ticket for next year's musical gift early, Amazon Prime can't get you into A Swinging Birdland Christmas this year.
