LAByrinth Theater Company will present BACKSEAT, a series of readings of new works inspired by the formation of The Drivers Cooperative NYC. LAByrinth company members have created fifteen new works exploring the intersection of the American Dream and the reality of the working class world of New York City drivers.

TAPE by Stephen Belber, adapted to the Zoom screen by Neal Davidson, will close this weekend with two FREE LIVE performances, Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th at 8 pm (Eastern). The lobby opens at 7:30.

Theater companies all over the world are rising to the challenge of staying connected to their audiences and continuing to serve them while in-person performances are suspended for an indefinite period. San Franciso's storied Magic Theatre has come up with a creative solution by instituting 'Far Apart Art,' a podcast series composed of brief, daily audio journals from a host of Magic's family of playwrights. BroadwayWorld recently spoke with Loretta Greco, Magic's Artistic Director, about 'Far Apart Art' and how she and Magic are weathering the pandemic.

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theatrical organization in the United States, has announced BEN PLATT as the recipient of its 2020 Man of the Year Award, and the youngest ever Man of the Year in the 54 years of the award. The Pudding will present this honor to a Tony, Grammy, and Emmy award-winning actor and musician who has made a meaningful impact on Broadway, television, and film.

An international cast is set to star in a new production of Gruesome Playground Injuries next month. The original production premiered at the Alley Theatre in Houston in 2009, then off-Broadway in 2011. The play will be put up during the both romantic and equally commercialized Valentine's day season.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that Bay Area natives and provocateurs, Culture Clash, are returning with their latest production, Culture Clash (Still) in America.
