Very sad news today in the theatre world: Oscar, Tony and multi-award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead from suspected drug overdose on Sunday afternoon at his apartment in Manhattan's West Village. First reported by the Wall Street Journal, Oscar, Tony and multi-award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead on Sunday afternoon, at his apartment at 35 Bethune Street, in Manhattan's West Village. According to police reports, the initial cause of death is believed to have been a drug overdose; and Hoffman had been admitted to rehab last year for herion abuse.

A Red Orchid Theatre (AROT) welcomes award-winning actor Kamal Angelo Bolden, director and long-time AROT artistic associate Shade Murray, and lighting designer Mike Durst into its storied Ensemble. Bolden, Murray and Durst are the most recent additions to the A Red Orchid Theatre Ensemble, which includes Lance Baker, Dado, Jennifer Engstrom, Kirsten Fitzgerald, Joseph Fosco, Steve Haggard, Mierka Girten, Larry Grimm, Karen Kawa, Karen Kessler, Danny McCarthy, Brett Neveu, Michael Shannon, Guy Van Swearingen, Doug Vickers, Natalie West and Craig Wright.
