The Public Theater has announced a groundbreaking new initiative for community-based theater, PUBLIC WORKS, that is designed to cultivate new connections and new models of engagement with artists, audiences and the community each year. In its inaugural year, PUBLIC WORKS will create an extraordinary example of participatory theater with a free, original musical adaptation of THE TEMPEST at the Delacorte Theater, inspired by a 1916 community theatrical event of Caliban by the Yellow Sands at the stadium at City College in New York.

The Kitchen Theatre's 22nd Season continues with the regional premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis's The Motherf**ker with the Hat. The play runs from April 10 to 28, with preview performances April 10, 11 and 12. Opening Night is April 13, and the closing performance is on April 28. A Kickstarter campaign for the project was launched on Friday morning, March 29, and the goal of $36,000 was met on Monday evening, April 1, as of 11 p.m., approximately 82 hours after it went live. Julia Albain and Corey Lubowich (of Team StarKid fame) have announced a Kickstarter campaign for Judas Redux, a project that will include extensive behind-the-scenes content and a new production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Julia Albain, and featuring Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter and Brian Rosenthal. If the goal of $36,000 is met, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will be presented at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont in Chicago, for 18 performances, August 23 - September 8, 2013. VS. THEATRE COMPANY has announced its first production in its permanent new theatre, COPS AND FRIENDS OF COPS, written and directed by Ron Klier. COPS AND FRIENDS OF COPS will preview on Wednesday, April 24 & Thursday, April 25 at 8pm and will open on Friday, April 26 at 8pm and run through Saturday, June 1 at the new home of VS. She had been cast in another LA production several years ago, but she, along with several other cast members left the production early in the process. Round House Theatre today announced its first full season under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Ryan Rilette. In 2013/14, Round House will produce two modern classics, two Broadway comedies, an Off-Broadway comedy, and an Off-Broadway musical on its mainstage in Bethesda.

Patrick Riviere, who is in the midst of directing the epic drama by Stephen Adly Guirgis, about Judas's trial in a courtroom in Purgatory, is now adding the double duty of also playing The Judge and Caiaphas the Elder after several other actors had film and TV prospects come their way.
