The 2018 Jimmy Awards took place on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 7:30pm at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. Laura Benanti hosted. The coveted Jimmy Awards for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor were presented to Renee Rapp, The Blumey Awards (Charlotte, NC) and Andrew Barth Feldman, The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (New York, NY).
New York Classical Theatre's ROMEO AND JULIET Moves To Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City For 'Take A Seat' Week

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. Performance schedule can be found at newyorkclassical.org.
Mint Theater Company Presents Rarely Revived DAYS TO COME

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) will present a rare revival of Days to Come by Lillian Hellman, 'one of the most important playwrights of the American theater' (New York Times). Performances will begin August 2nd and continue through September 30th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for August 26th.

The Jimmy Awards have just announced the industry coaches for the tenth annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 25th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre. The six coaches - Lisa Brescia, MaryAnn Hu, Adam Kantor, Howard McGillin, Natalie Weiss, And Schele Williams - will mentor the 80 high school students from across America who will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress.

Entertainment industry professionals are invited to attend a private industry presentation of Bran Castle, a new musical by Donald Nolan, on Thursday, June 21 at 11AM at Ford Studio at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, between Dyer & 10th Avenues). New York Classical Theatre (Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director), New York City's only all-free professional Off-Broadway theatre company, is pleased to announce a new production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to celebrate its 19th Anniversary Season. The production, directed by Mr. Burdman, is the company's first staging of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, and will be presented in five New York City parks - Central Park, Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City, The Battery, Carl Schurz Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park - with performances from June 5 through July 29 at 7:00 PM. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. New York Classical Theatre also invites audiences to experience unique behind-the-scenes access to open rehearsals on selected dates for each of the five park stagings.

'A Blanket of Dust' is the story of a modern day Antigone. The daughter of a U.S. Senator seeks justice for her husband, who has died in the World Trade Center. Her ordeal drives her to the outer fringes of society. After struggling to establish facts that the government, the media, her family and her countrymen deny, she protests with a harrowing act of sacrificial tragedy. The play's world premiere will be presented Off-Broadway by Delphi Film from June 6 to 30 at The Flea Theater Mainstage, 20 Thomas Street, directed by Chris Murrah.
