1950's Sci-Fi Musical Comedy IT CAME FROM BEYOND Opens Tonight

Producers John Lant and Cornell Christianson with ICFB Productions are pleased to announce the Off-Broadway premiere of IT CAME FROM BEYOND, a 1950's sci-fi, musical comedy with book by writer / producer Cornell Christianson, music and lyrics by Stephen M. Schwartz and Norman E. Thalheimer, and directed by Jim Blanchette.

Award-Winning Actors Co-Op Theatre Company Presents VIOLET 

Actors Co-op Theatre Company (Ovation Award-Winner 2017 Best Play, Intimate Theatre for 33 Variations) is proud to present the Tony nominated musical VIOLET, with music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, directed by Richard Israel, produced by Thomas Chavira. Violet opens Friday, May 11 at 8:00 pm, and will run through Sunday, June 17 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower Street, 90028 (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

The long awaited revival of Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry's gripping Tony Award-winning murder mystery musical PARADE as presented in 2013 at Fullerton's Plummer Auditorium by 3-D Theatricals (3DT) of Los Angeles and Orange County, will once again take a bow at two Southern California main stage theatres beginning June 1 - 10 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts and June 15 - 24, 2018 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

NCTC Presents SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF A PLAY, Written And Performed By Del Shores

In June, New Conservatory Theatre Center welcomes the return of Sordid Lives creator, Del Shores with the San Francisco premiere of Six Characters in Search of a Play, directed by Emerson Collins. This one-man show is filled with six one-of-a-kind characters Del Shores met in real life, that haven't quite made it into any of his other plays, films, or TV shows. Over the course of 90 minutes, the audience will meet "Yvonne" the anti-vegetarian Dallas waitress; "Sarah", a Trump-hating elderly actress with an inhaler in one-hand and a cigarette in the other; "Jimmy Ray", the evolving, Magic Mike-loving latent Georgia redneck; "Loraine", the once brilliant drama teacher who has lost her mind and is now obsessed with porn; "Marsha", the monkey-hating lesbian with COPD; and "Aunt Bobby Sue", the racist Republican with a heart of gold.

David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE Begins 4/20 At Chance Theater

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is excited to announce the second show in its 20th Season ... Good People. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by Jocelyn A. The Highwood Theatre Presents All New Musical Production Of Nick Blaemire's SOON

Continuing its season theme of "Off Your Rocker," The Highwood Theatre will present an all-new production of the quirky musical "Soon," opening in April. "Soon" is Highwood's 5th annual Open Source Theatre Project, and with the intent of redefining conceptions of a traditional night at the theatre, will feature two casts - one made up of talented high school students and one of adult professionals. The two  casts will rehearse together and perform in repertory, supported by a student design team and student crew.

Steven Leigh Morris Receives La Drama Critics Circle Gordon Davidson Award

LA STAGE Alliance Executive Director Steven Leigh Morris will receive the Gordon Davidson Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Los Angeles Theatrical Community from the LA Drama Critics Circle. The 49th annual LADCC awards ceremony is set for Monday, March 19, at A Noise Within in Pasadena. Established by the LADCC in 2016, the Gordon Davidson Award is accompanied by an honorarium funded by Center Theatre Group. Morris will be the second recipient of the honor.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE Extends at Boston Court

Boston Court Performing Arts Center announces the extension of their reimagined modern take of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire. Due to audience demand, the production will now play through April 1, 2018. This radical re-envisioning of Streetcarfeatures a multicultural cast and modern setting, pushing on the play's present-day relevance.
