Road Theatre Company Extends A DELICATE SHIP

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, announce that the second show of its 2017-2018 season, the critically acclaimed (LA Times CRITICS CHOICE), west coast premiere of A DELICATE SHIP, written by acclaimed playwright Anna Ziegler (Actually) and directed by Andre Barron (Edward Albee's The Play About the Baby) is EXTENDING through SATURDAY, MARCH 24 at the Road Theatre on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Native Voices at the Autry Presents The World Premiere of BINGO HALL

Edward Anaya makes all the calls in the pueblo-well, he calls the numbers at the senior center's bimonthly bingo. But college acceptance letters kick-start an identity crisis: Who will Edward be if he leaves home and bingo behind? Like Ferris Bueller if he lived in a pueblo, Edward knows just what to say until romantic rejection, family antics, and community pressures leave him tongue-tied. New playwright Dillon Chitto brings the pueblo to the American theatre in this hilarious new play about tradition in a fast-changing world.

OCPA Presents THROUGH TEARS COME I At The Chance Theater

The Orange County Playwrights Alliance kicks off its 2018 reading series at the Chance Theater on March 10 with a new drama from Anaheim playwright Erica Bennett. Through Tears Come I connects contemporary Southern California life with Southern California history in a stirring and bold new work, directed by Angela Cruz and featuring Margarita Delia Martinez Florez, Zoe Gavina, Talia Goodman, Joseph McKinney, Taylor Preminger, Lisa Renee and David Edward Reyes.

Center Theatre Group To Host Block Party Kick-Off Event And Community Conversation

Center Theatre Group will host a Block Party Kick-Off Event at the Kirk Douglas Theatre to celebrate the remounting of three local productions from Celebration Theatre, Critical Mass Performance Group and Playwrights' Arena. This free and public event is open to the entire Los Angeles theatre community and will take place on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. Reservations are encouraged and can be made at CTGLA.org/BlockPartyKickOff.

Center Theatre Group, LA STAGE Alliance, UCLA And USC Present The Going Pro Career Fair

Center Theatre Group invites current undergraduate and graduate students to attend the free Going Pro Career Fair on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (514 S. Spring St. in Downtown L.A.) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Co-presented by LA STAGE Alliance, the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and the USC School of Dramatic Arts, the event is free but reservations are recommended.

Son Of Semele Ensemble Presents OF GOVERNMENT Opening 3/10

Violet will preview from February 2 through February 9; regular performances will begin February 10 and continue through March 4 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

World Premiere of MAGELLANICA Comes to Artists Rep

Artists Rep presents the World Premiere of Magellanica, by E.M. Lewis, directed by Damaso Rodriguez from January 20 through February 18 on the theatre's Morrison Stage. Magellanica is a five-part epic play written by Oregon playwright E.M. Lewis. This production is made possible through major funding from the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) Creative Heights Initiative and the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. Magellanica is a part of Portland's Fertile Ground Festival of New Works.

Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre to present 2018 SHEWRITES New Play Festival

In association with the Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis and Atlanta's Working Title Playwrights, Synchronicity Theatre will present SheWrites, a national playwriting competition for women, February 12 23, 2018 at Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta. The plays that will be workshopped this year are Medica by Daryl Lisa Fazio, Romeo & Naomi Ramirez by Kathryn Walat, and Hands of Color by Kimberly Monks.
