TV: J. Quinton Johnson, Isabelle McCalla, Judy Kuhn, Rebecca Luker & More Get Ready to Cut Loose for Kennedy Center's FOOTLOOSE!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will soon presents the Broadway Center Stage production of Footloose. The cast is led by J. Quinton Johnson (Choir Boy, Hamilton, Broadway Center Stage: In the Heights) as Ren McCormack, Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, Les Misérables) as Ethel McCormack, Isabelle McCalla (The Prom, Aladdin) as Ariel Moore, Michael Park (Dear Evan Hansen) as Reverend Shaw Moore, and three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker as Vi Moore (Mary Poppins, the Kennedy Center's Little Dancer). They are joined by Joshua Logan Alexander as Chuck, Peter McPoland as Willard Hewitt, Tony Award nominee Michael Mulheren (Kiss Me, Kate; Bright Star) as Coach Dunbar, Lena Owens as Wendy Jo, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz (Spamilton) as Rusty, and Rema Webb (The Color Purple, Violet) as Lulu Warnicker/Eleanor Dunbar/Betty Blast, Grace Slear and Urleen, with Brandon Burks, Claire Crause, Michele Lee, Jess LeProtto, Gregory Liles, Nick Martinez, Maximilian Sangerman, Jonathan Savage, Bethany Tesarck, Tiernan Tunnicliffe, and Jamar Williams.

THE DOO WOP PROJECT Brings Their Music to Music City for Shows at City Winery 4/5

What with all the creativity being expressed onstage at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre during the run of the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys, it should come as no surprise that imaginations were just as active - and as fertile - backstage. Take for example, the creation of The Doo Wop Project, the six-member enclave of performers that was borne of offstage conversations and considerations among some cast members of the long-running show.

The Doo Wop Project Brings A DOO WOP CHRISTMAS to The McAninch Arts Center

The Doo Wop Project brings "A Doo Wop Christmas Show" to the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Doo Wop Project, with multiple members who have appeared in the Broadway hits "Jersey Boys" and "Motown: The Musical", brings unparalleled sound and vocal authenticity to recreate a classic era in American music that has inspired generations.

December Shows Announced At The Moonlight Amphitheatre

Moonlight Presents offers two holiday events in December at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Sponsored by Dr. Bronner's, the shows include the Doo Wop Project Christmas, featuring stars of Broadway's "Jersey Boys" and "Motown: the Musical," on Sat., Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Amongst the singers is San Diego native Charl Brown who began his musical theatre journey as a student at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He would go on to appearing in a number of shows locally, including The Moonlight's "Ragtime" in 2002, before going on to Broadway. Tickets are priced $15 - $40. On Sat., Dec. 8, experience the holiday favorite "Home Alone" on a big screen with pre-movie activities including a snow play area for the kids. Tickets are $5 or $10. The Doo Wop Project Returns To The State Theatre On Nov 16

The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Featuring current and former stars of Broadway's smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings its unparalleled sound to the State Theatre on Friday, November 16.

Breaking: SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE Will Play Final Off-Broadway Performance Next Month

Producers Steven Baruch, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel and Tom Viertel announced today that Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller, the all-new incarnation of the record breaking Broadway hit, will close on Sunday, November 4, 2018. The show will have played 20 previews and 121 performances at Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street). Previews began on Friday, July 6 and the production officially opened on Sunday, July 22.

GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER Sets September Closing on Broadway

The producers of Broadway's Gettin' The Band Back Together, announced today that the show will close on Sunday, September 16 following the evening performance. It will have played 30 previews and 40 performances at the Belasco Theatre (111 W 44thStreet). Previews began on July 19 and the show opened on August 13. GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER to Receive Broadway Cast Album

SH-K-BOOM RECORDS has announced it will record the new musical comedy, Gettin' The Band Back Together for an Original Broadway Cast Album to be released later this year. The production, currently running at The Belasco Theatre, is directed by Tony Award winner John Rando and choreographed by Chris Bailey.
