FX Announces POSE Season Two Premiere Date

FX has set the premiere date for the second season of the award-winning and groundbreaking drama series Pose from Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President, Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. The ten-episode second season of Pose will debut on Sunday, June 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX.

Nine professional bakers battle it out on the new season of Best Baker in America, premiering Monday, May 13th at 9pm ET/PT. Food Network's Scott Conant returns to host, tasking the bakers over seven episodes with challenges designed to put their baking skills and technical proficiency to the test for a chance to walk away with $25,000 and the coveted title. During each episode the bakers must create elegant and delicious baked goods through two rounds - a Skills Challenge that tests their mastery of the essential technical skills of baking, followed by a Master Challenge that tests the bakers' prowess working with specific flavors and ingredients. Inna Faliks Performs World Premiere By Richard Danielpour At The Wallis

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents Inna Faliks, piano, one of the most "adventurous and passionate" (The New Yorker) artists of her generation, performing a world premiere by Richard Danielpour and works by Rodion Shchedrin, Schumann and Chopin in her Wallis debut on Sunday, May 12, 2019, 7 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater. The Ukrainian-born American pianist gives the world premiere of Iranian-American composer Danielpour's Eleven Bagatelles for Piano, Shchedrin's Basso Ostinato, Chopin's Polonaise-Fantasie, Op 61, and Schumann's Symphonic Etudes, Op 13, with posthumous variations. Faliks, Head of Piano at UCLA, performs on leading stages around the globe, garnering acclaim for her musical "poetry and panoramic vision" (The Washington Post) and "riveting passion" (The Baltimore Sun). Grammy winner Danielpour is "an outstanding composer" (New York Daily News) and one of the most recorded composers of his generation with a list of commissions from Yo-Yo Ma, Jessye Norman, Dawn Upshaw, Emanuel Ax, the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Guarneri and Emerson string quartets, among many others. Like Faliks, he also teaches at UCLA, as Co-Area Head, Composition.

NIGEL SLATER'S TOAST Announces UK Tour

Following its world premiere at The Lowry, Salford in May, a sold-out run at as part of Traverse Festival 2018 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and a London transfer to Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Other Palace where it is set to play from the 4th April - 3rd August, it is today announced that Nigel Slater's Toast will then tour the UK. Launching at Huddersfield's Lawrence Batley Theatre on 19 August, where the play's writer Henry Filloux-Bennett has recently been appointed Chief Executive, the run will conclude its run at the Crewe Lyceum on 7 December. Broadway fans gathered at the Times Union on March 30th to see The World of Musicals. The show features Emily Huddleston, Fearghal Curtis, Hollie Jones, Matthew James Duff, Rebekah Shearer, Sandra Bendrik, Amber Sylvia Edwards, Ciaran Olohan, Haydn Cox, and Kevin C. Olohan. The cast is SUPREMELY talented and an absolute joy to watch.

Freeform Releases First Look Photo for SIREN

“Siren,” Freeform's fan-favorite mermaid drama, will return THURSDAY, JULY 11, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Freeform. Season 2B picks up with Ben and Maddie feeling uncertain about the mermaids' future after the deadly consequences of the attack on the oil rig. With the mermaids returning to sea, Ben and Maddie are left feeling lost without Ryn. Once Helen learns she's not the only one of her kind, she discovers theirs a dark side to her people's past. The series stars Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun and Rena Owen. “Siren” is executive produced by Eric Wald and Emily Whitesell, who serves as showrunner. Dean White, Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb also serve as executive producers.
Freeform Announces SHADOWHUNTERS Series Finale to Air on May 6

Freeform announced today that they will say farewell to fan-favorite series “Shadowhunters” with an extended two and a half-hour finale on MONDAY, MAY 6, at 8:00-10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT. The GLAAD, People's Choice and Teen Choice Award-winning series that followed the adventures of half-angel, half-human demon hunters and their downworld allies. Passionate fans rallied together to raise money for The Trevor Project in honor of the show's message of inclusion, compassion and acceptance. In celebration of “Shadowhunters” and the series fan base, Freeform also announced that they and their parent company, Disney, have matched the fan donations by giving The Trevor Project $25,000. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.

The Royal Conservatory regrets to announce that American pianist Murray Perahia has had to cancel what would have been his Koerner Hall debut on May 1, during Koerner Hall's 10th anniversary season finale festival. A statement from his management reads, It is with great regret that Mr. Perahia has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming solo recitals in North America as a sudden medical setback has prevented him from performing publicly. Besides his date in Koerner Hall, Perahia has withdrawn from concerts at Carnegie Hall and Chicago's Symphony Center.
