Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of CAKE OFF, a new musical by Sheri Wilner (Kingdom City), Julia Jordan (Murder Ballad) and Adam Gwon (Signature's The Boy Detective Fails). Directed by Signature's Director of New Works Joe Calarco (Signature's Gypsy, Shakespeare's R&J) this hilarious new musical is a battle-of-the-sexes set at the 50th Annual Millberry Cake-Off competition. A Modish Ripoff of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, opening the not-for-profit organization's 20th anniversary season in the Gil Cates Theater. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy Award nominated writer Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights, Boardwalk Empire) with songs by Grammy Award winner Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and staged by Jackson Gay, THESE PAPER BULLETS! was commissioned by Yale Repertory Theatre where it premiered in 2014.

The Irish Repertory Theatre, which 'encourages the development of works focusing on the Irish and Irish American experience, as well as a range of other cultures,' continues the eighth season of its Reading Series with Jen Silverman's play The Moors, directed by Jackson Gay. The reading will take place on Monday, July 28 at 3pm on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 W. 22nd Street). The reading is FREE and open to the public. Producers of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Revival, are pleased to announce that Tracy Letts' Killer Joe will be heading to Broadway for the first time. The Broadway premiere of Killer Joe will reunite Pam MacKinnon, winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Director of a Play (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) and Tracy Letts, winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). The production is slated to hit Broadway in 2014.
