Boston Playwrights' Theatre presents the 15th annual Boston Theater Marathon and the fifth year of The Warm-Up Laps. The Boston Theater Marathon features 53 ten-minute plays, by 54 New England playwrights, produced by 53 New England theatres in 10 hours.
Primary Stages Announces PS[NYC] Training Program

Primary Stages has announced its newest training program, PS[NYC], the Primary Stages Theater Semester in New York. PS[NYC] is designed to fully immerse undergraduate students in theater and the world of creating new plays in New York City. This 14-week program is held at Primary Stages, one of Off-Broadway's leading producers of new works and home of the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), a multidisciplinary school with departments in playwriting, acting, and directing. PS[NYC] gives students maximum exposure to New York theater and the industry professionals who create it. Students will not only learn what it takes to make great theater, but will sharpen their critical thinking skills as well. Students will be encouraged to identify and nurture their own artistic inner voices, and will leave the program with knowledge, insight, and skills that can only be developed in an environment built on artistic excellence.

Join Salve Regina University's theatre arts program and community members as they celebrate new plays and new playwrights June 14-17 at the Casino Theatre, 9 Freebody St., Newport, RI. Over the course of four days, 20 actors, seven directors and 18 playwrights will bring 13 new plays to life. All performances and workshops are free to the public.

Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the company's professional training school, has announced its Spring 2012 schedule of classes now open for enrollment. ESPA will offer new classes including Musical Theater Repertoire, Dialects Intensive, Advanced Scene Study: Chekhov in a Contemporary Climate, Musical Theater Collaboration, Directing and Producing for Film, Singing for the Non-Singer, and Solo Performance. New instructors Kelly AuCoin, Jack Doulin, Judy Gold, Daniel Goldstein, and Brian Lowdermilk will join returning faculty members Liz Duffy Adams, David Adjmi, Karen Braga, Bekah Brunstetter, Keith Bunin, Denis Butkus, Kara Lee Corthon, Jane Guyer Fujita, Jackson Gay, Randy Graff, Adam Gwon, Josh Hecht, Lila Rose Kaplan, Kait Kerrigan, Cynthia Mace, Cheri Magid, Rogelio Martinez, Winter Miller, Edwin Sanchez, Julian Sheppard, Saviana Stanescu, Caridad Svich, Daniel Talbott, Richard Topol, Ken Urban, Francine Volpe, Kim Weild, Sheri Wilner, and Primary Stages Literary Manager and Director of ESPA Tessa LaNeve, Associate Artistic Director Michelle Bossy, Artistic Director Andrew Leynse, and Founder and Executive Producer Casey Childs.

In celebration of its 50 year anniversary, the critically-acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will open on Broadway Saturday, October 13, 2012-exactly 50 years to the date after the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, the Broadway production will feature the original Steppenwolf cast: ensemble members Tracy Letts and Amy Morton with Carrie Coon and Madison Dirks and will open at a Shubert Theatre TBA.
