Boston Ballet School Presents 10th Annual Next Generation Performance

Boston Ballet School (BBS) presents the 10th annual Next Generation performance showcasing elite young dancers of Boston Ballet II and Boston Ballet School with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. The program includes a new work by Principal Dancer Lia Cirio, Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Konservatoriet and William Tell pas de deux by August Bournonville. Les Passages opens the program, choreographed by BBS Faculty, showcasing the Pre-Professional Program. The one-night-only performance takes place May 22 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.

Lantern Theater Company Presents A World Premiere Adaptation Of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Lantern Theater Company is thrilled to announce the world premiere of an original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Play Program and co-created by Philadelphia-based artists Anthony Lawton, Christopher Colucci, and Thom Weaver. In this wonderfully clear and direct telling of Dickens' beloved novella, Lawton will bring the story boldly to life as only live theater can. Just in time for the holiday season, audiences of all ages are invited to come rediscover this story of a miser's miraculous redemption from a life of bitterness, greed, and isolation. Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol runs Thursday, December 13, 2018, through Sunday, January 6, 2019, in the Black Box Theater at Drexel University's URBN Center Annex; a full schedule of performances is included in the fact sheet below. 

Blake Shelton Releases Cover of Outlaw Legend Bobby Bare's TEQUILA SHEILA

After announcing “Friends and Heroes 2019” earlier this week, country music superstar Blake Shelton continues to show old-school country some modern-day love with his cover of “Tequila Sheila” (listen HERE). Originally released in 1980 by Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member Bobby Bare on his album Down and Dirty, the reimagined throwback tune features an introductory vocal by Bare himself. The song was written by songwriting legends Shel Silverstein and Mac Davis. The country legend is celebrating 60 years as a hit-maker this year and has big plans in store for 2019, to be announced soon.

Deborah Allen, the fiery country singer who stole America's hearts with her cross-over smash, “Baby I Lied,” was recently honored by BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) at their Nashville offices.  Deborah was presented with the coveted Million-Air certifications for Janie Fricke's “Don't Worry 'Bout Me, Baby” and John Conlee's “I'm Only In It For The Love” by BMI executive David Preston. A Million-Air Award is given to songwriters, composers, and publishers whose songs accumulate over one million U.S. broadcast performances. The acknowledgement is a mark of praise.
