The Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater will present NEW YORK, NEW YEAR A New Musical, from April 29 - May 21, 2017.  Based on the original concept by GARY BAGLEY, NEW YORK, NEW YEAR has book by CHRISTINA FRANKLIN, music by MICHAEL MULDER & lyrics by GARY BAGLEY, with additional lyrics by MATTHEW GREGORY.

Rising Sun Performance Company and Founding Artistic Director Akia present Child's Play by Kevin D. Ferguson, directed by Brock H. Hill. Child's Play opens April 13th for a strictly limited run, with only 9 performances at the storied Kraine Theatre (85 East 4th Street NYC).

Building the Wall opens at the Fountain Theatre on March 18, the first in a series of productions set to take place at theaters across the U.S. as part of a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere.

Today HarperCollins Children's Books announced the publication of RUNNY BABBIT RETURNS, a never-before-published book of spoonerism poems by the legendary Shel Silverstein and follow-up to the 2005 publication, RUNNY BABBIT. Antonia Markiet, Senior Executive Editor at HarperCollins, acquired U.S. and Canada rights, and publication is scheduled for September 19, 2017.

The new River Street Theatre in Jaffrey will present the 18th Annual Animation Show of Shows from Friday, January 13th through Sunday, January 15th.

Rising Sun Performance Company started out in a tiny coffee shop on 50th street, in 2001 with myself and two friends- David Anthony and Danielle Montezinos and a big idea.  The great big 'What If' - What if we created a place where we as performers were generating the work, selecting the work and casting ourselves? What if we created a place where we worked with people we loved, in a respectful and fun environment?  What if when a show was over we didn't have to say goodbye to all of the fabulous creative relationships we made during this show?  What if we just did this ourselves? 

Rising Sun Performance Company announced today that they will be presenting a one night immersive theatrical event & experience, 'Shhh...It's a speakeasy' today September 10th at 7:30 PM (doors at 7).
