Algonquin Arts Theatre announces an Into the Wood's Scavenger Hunt throughout the borough of Manasquan, NJ during the month of April. Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales set to a musical format.

Algonquin Arts Theatre has announced the addition of New Jersey native Shayne Austin Miller to the theater's professional staff.  Miller will fill the Director of Marketing and Communications role replacing David Applegate who recently left the theatre for a new opportunity.

The performing arts are one of the hardest hit segments of society since Covid19 ravaged the country. Although indoor performances are still prohibited, some summer arts programs and camps have created virtual versions of their offerings. This is a unique opportunity to study with some of the greatest arts educators in the nation, regardless of where you reside.

With college theatre program auditions just around the corner, we're highlighting some of the most prestigious theatre programs from all across the United States to give you insight into what to expect from their programs, from audition advice to real world experience and more. Today we're chatting with faculty from Kean University's School of Fine and Performing Arts about its professional theatre in residence and more.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Mike Stotts-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is pleased to announce it has won two, 2019 Discover Jersey Arts People's Choice Awards.  Paper Mill Playhouse was awarded, "Favorite Large Theater to See a Musical," and "Favorite Choral Group" by the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation. Presented by Discover Jersey Arts, a program of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the annual Awards highlight the work of New Jersey's vital and thriving arts community. 

Paper Mill Playhouse will present Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's classic musical West Side Story, directed by Paper Mill Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee and Jerome Robbins' original choreography recreated by Alex Sanchez. West Side Story is based on a conception by Jerome Robbins and features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernsteinand lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

According to an Equity casting notcice, the new musical HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, which was initially scheduled to premiere in Toronto last Fall, will open at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse in September. The show will run September 26 through October 27 2013 and is expected to transfer to Broadway in Spring 2014.

New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse is currently presenting Irving Berlin's White Christmas, directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Randy Skinner and musical direction by Steven Freeman. The cast features: James Clow (Bob Wallace), Tony Yazbeck (Phil Davis), Jill Paice (Betty Haynes), Meredith Patterson (Judy Haynes), Edward James Hyland (General Waverly) and Lorna Luft (Martha Watson). According tot he NJ.com, nine theatre-goers were asked to leave during intermission of Paper Mill Playhouse's NEWSIES last week due to 'unruly behavior.' Theatre representative Shayne Miller commented on the incident: 'There was an altercation, something about poking another patron in the back. They were being rowdy and loud, talking on their cell phones in the theater.'

Last year, The Little House on the Prairie Harvest Festival attracted more than 2,000 area residents. They appeared on the nationally syndicated 'Joe Franklin Show' and will be making an appearance on 'The View'. There are plenty of FREE activities for the kids too. In celebration of Paper Mill's 72nd season, the Millburn theater held a special celebration event featuring Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway and a special performance by Michael Rose, singing songs from Broadway and the movies. The evening also featured a special award and tribute to the life and legacy of Lynn Redgrave.

Last night, Sunday, February 21, Paper Mill Playhouse opened their production of Lost in Yonkers. Directed by Michael Bloom, Lost in Yonkers will run at the Millburn theater through March 14, 2010. Lost in Yonkers was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Disney High School Musical is based on the Emmy Award® winning Disney Channel hit musical and triple-platinum selling soundtrack. Disney High School Musical began performances at the Millburn theatre on November 5 and will run through December 7, 2008.

Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Steel Magnolias officially opened on Sunday, March 9 at their Millburn Theatre, with performances through April 6. The cast of Steel Magnolias stars Kelly Bishop as Clairee, Charlotte Booker as Truvy, Beth Fowler as Ouiser, Monique Fowler as M'Lynn, Kelly Sullivan as Shelby and Kate Wetherhead as Annelle.
