Paper Mill Playhouse will present Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's classic musical West Side Story, directed by Paper Mill Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee and Jerome Robbins' original choreography recreated by Alex Sanchez. West Side Story is based on a conception by Jerome Robbins and features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernsteinand lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director) has a well-earned reputation for launching both performers and shows for the Great White Way.  Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre have ignited the careers of many notable performers, all of whom attended high school in New Jersey.  To celebrate its 20-year milestone, the 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards will be broadcast live online and available on HomeTowne Television.  The 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony presented by the Investors Foundation will take place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 2, at 7:30pm, featuring presenters from Broadway and beyond and performances from nominated productions. The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir is a tuition-free, audition based, performance show choir that stems from Paper Mill Playhouse's award-winning Arts Education and Outreach programs. The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir acts as ambassadors to Paper Mill Playhouse with an array of performance opportunities throughout the community and beyond. In 2013, the choir performed for more than 15,000 people across the state including appearances at the New Jersey State House, Best of Morris-Essex Festival, Patriot's Theater in Trenton, NJ Pride in Asbury Park, numerous street fairs and the main stage at Paper Mill Playhouse. The choir consists of 30 to 40 singer/dancers between the ages of 16 and 22.

BREAKING NEWS: HONEYMOON IN VEGAS Musical to Premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse Prior to Spring 2014 Broadway Opening!

According to an Equity casting notcice, the new musical HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, which was initially scheduled to premiere in Toronto last Fall, will open at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse in September. The show will run September 26 through October 27 2013 and is expected to transfer to Broadway in Spring 2014.

New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse is currently presenting Irving Berlin's White Christmas, directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Randy Skinner and musical direction by Steven Freeman. The cast features: James Clow (Bob Wallace), Tony Yazbeck (Phil Davis), Jill Paice (Betty Haynes), Meredith Patterson (Judy Haynes), Edward James Hyland (General Waverly) and Lorna Luft (Martha Watson). The show opened last night, November 20, and runs through Saturday, December 24. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the recent opening and brings you red carpet coverage of the after party below!

Audience Members Asked to Leave During Paper Mill Playhouse's NEWSIES

According tot he NJ.com, nine theatre-goers were asked to leave during intermission of Paper Mill Playhouse's NEWSIES last week due to 'unruly behavior.' Theatre representative Shayne Miller commented on the incident: 'There was an altercation, something about poking another patron in the back. They were being rowdy and loud, talking on their cell phones in the theater.'

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hairspray's Blowout Bash will take place on Main Street and Taylor Park in Downtown Millburn on Sunday, September 19th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Hairspray's Blowout Bash will feature: rides, games, live entertainment, contests, give-a-ways, food, a special appearance from members of the Hairspray cast and more. Hairspray's Blowout Bash is a rain or shine event. Hairspray's Blowout Bash will feature The Fantastic Party Dolls Show and Dance Band. The Party Dolls started out in 1985 as a '60's Girl Group and Motown Review' The show has gone from Nantucket to Maui and played in 18 states and two foreign countries. The repertoire has expanded to cover '70's Disco Divas' and 'Ladies of the 80's'. From Motown to Madonna they are 'A tribute to girl groups and women in rock'. Some highlights and notable engagements include: George W. Bush Inaugural, PNC Arts Center; Trump Marina, Hard Rock (NYC, AC, Philly); Museum of Natural History; Yale University; Palm Beach; Southampton, Bermuda, Bahamas. The Party Dolls have appeared on the bill with such Rock and Roll Hall of Famers as; The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Connie Francis, Ben E. King and Dick Clark. They appeared on the nationally syndicated 'Joe Franklin Show' and will be making an appearance on 'The View'. There are plenty of FREE activities for the kids too. The event will feature rides including; Turbo Tubs, a trackless train with rides around Taylor Park, a 'candy house' themed moonwalker, a 24 foot inflatable slide, inflatable twister, vintage carnival games, spin art and more. There will be free cotton candy for the kids sponsored by Downtown Millburn (while supplies last). Other food items will be available for purchase on the day of the event. WPLJ-95.5FM, New Jersey and New York's hit music station, will DJ the event. Paper Mill Playhouse and WPLJ-95.5FM will be hosting contests throughout the day including: Jersey's Biggest Hair Contest, 60's Costume Contest, Hula Hoop Contest, 60's Dance Off, 60's trivia and more. In celebration of Paper Mill's 72nd season, the Millburn theater held a special celebration event featuring Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway and a special performance by Michael Rose, singing songs from Broadway and the movies. The evening also featured a special award and tribute to the life and legacy of Lynn Redgrave.

Last night, Sunday, February 21, Paper Mill Playhouse opened their production of Lost in Yonkers. Directed by Michael Bloom, Lost in Yonkers will run at the Millburn theater through March 14, 2010. Lost in Yonkers was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Steel Magnolias officially opened on Sunday, March 9 at their Millburn Theatre, with performances through April 6. The cast of Steel Magnolias stars Kelly Bishop as Clairee, Charlotte Booker as Truvy, Beth Fowler as Ouiser, Monique Fowler as M'Lynn, Kelly Sullivan as Shelby and Kate Wetherhead as Annelle.
