This spring, Barrington Public Theater-Southern Berkshire County's newest theater company focused on new work and local artistry-announces its inaugural production of the new play, Breakwater, written by the Barrington Public's Artistic Director Jim Frangione.

Rubicon Theatre Company announces two performances of an intimate concert featuring Golden Globe Award-Winner and Grammy nominee Amanda McBroom, presented as part of the 2018-2019 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Concert Series. Amanda McBroom, a Rubicon favorite both as a singer and actress, returns to Rubicon with a concert version of her hit play Lady Macbeth Sings the Blues on Saturday June 8 at 8p.m. and Sunday June 9 at 2 p.m.

Elliott & Harper Productions and Cindy Tolan have announced the transfer of the highly acclaimed, sold-out Young Vic production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman to the Piccadilly Theatre from 24 October 2019 to 4 January 2020, with a press night on Monday 4 November 2019.

The acclaimed new Young Vic production of Death of a Salesman, directed by Marianne Elliot, will transfer to the West End's Picadilly Theatre.

Following an incredibly successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018, Roxy Dunn and Alys Metcalf will bring their comedy play You Only Live Forever, about the reality of living for eternity, to London's Soho Theatre for four dates from Wednesday 14th August 2019 to Saturday 17th August 2019 at 9pm. California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2019 summer season with The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Wendy Arons and adapted by Tony Kushner, playing July 3 through July 21, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater. Ucross, a prestigious artist residency program and creative laboratory for the arts in northeast Wyoming, is proud to announce the debut of "Ucross Spotlight": a nationwide series of performances, live readings, moderated panels, and cultural events featuring its esteemed alumni. "Ucross Spotlight" will debut on Wednesday, June 19, at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street), with a conversation between Michael R. Just last night, The Public Theater celebrated its Annual Gala, WOMEN OF THE PUBLIC, at the Delacorte Theater. Directed by Leigh Silverman, with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, it celebrated those who shaped our past and guide our future. 

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.

Artists from around the region will gather in Ellicott City the weekend of June 28-30 as Art in Ellicott City presents Paint It! Ellicott City 2019, an annual plein air painting event. The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) and Howard County Tourism have partnered to host this paint-out weekend culminating in an exhibit of 30 juried artists at the Howard County Center for the Arts.

Company of Fools (COF) will kick off its 24th theatre season with a production of Crimes of the Heart - the 1981 Tony Award nominee for best play and Pulitzer Prize-winner for Drama. Written by celebrated playwright Beth Henley and directed by Scott Palmer, the production will run June 26-July 13 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse certainly knows what their audience wants, and as a result, we get another in the long line of Southern-fried comedies from what seems to be their go-to playwriting team, the trio known collectively as Jones Hope Wooten. That's not a dig on the Playhouse; Jones Hope Wooten's plays are not particularly smart, but they are usually quite funny and you can tell the actors are enjoying being in them as much as we enjoy watching them.

Casa Mañana is thrilled to name B.J. Cleveland as the new director of theatre for youth. Cleveland will direct all Children's Theatre productions amongst other duties, including serving as teaching artist and camp director for Casa Mañana Studios, Casa Mañana's premiere theatre school.
