After more than 50 years, Michigan Opera Theatre is changing its name: in tandem with a return to the Detroit Opera House for the April 2 premiere of La bohème, the company will be known as Detroit Opera.

Cantor Nathan Lam, one of the foremost Cantors in the United States has joined the clergy at the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre.  The Temple, which owns the historic 1900 seat art deco Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills is the largest arts and entertainment industry synagogue in the United States and is led by its founder Rabbi David Baron.

The Arctic Playhouse (TAP) announced today that due to a malfunction with the main drainage pipe at the theatre, its current production of Exit Laughing, which opened to rave reviews last week and was scheduled to continue for the next two weekends, must pause for an unexpected intermission to allow for repairs. Performances will resume on Thursday, March 3, and will continue through Sunday, March 13.
