GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY Returns to the West End

The critically-acclaimed hit Girl from the North Country, written and directed by Conor McPherson with music and lyrics by Bob Dylan, is to play at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End for a limited season from 10 December 2019 to 1 February 2020. Girl from the North Country opens in the West End following a run at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, Toronto, opening 28 September 2019, and prior to the Broadway production opening in March 2020 at The Belasco Theatre.

This revival of Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields and Neil Simon's show marks Josie Rourke's final production as Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse, and it's safe to say Rourke isn't going out quietly!

The Donmar Warehouse announces Artistic Director Josie Rourke's farewell production, Sweet Charity, choreographed by the world-renowned Wayne McGregor, who reunites with Josie after working on her debut film Mary Queen of Scots. Josie returns to the music of Cy Coleman who wrote the score for Rourke's Olivier Award-winning production of City of Angels. The book is by Neil Simon and lyrics by Dorothy Fields.

Stars of the West End, including Aladdin's genie, Trevor Dion Nicholas, who was recently also seen on ITV's All Star Musicals, will be performing in an evening of musical theatre in London as 'Songs for Jeremy' returns to the Southwark Playhouse for the second year running on 12 May, in aid of The Good Grief Trust.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces further casting for Artistic Director Josie Rourke's farewell production, Sweet Charity. Joining previously announced cast members Anne-Marie Duff as Charity and Arthur Darvill as Oscar will be Lizzy Connolly, Lauren Drew, Jo Eaton-Kent, Will Haswell, Charlotte Jaconelli, Stephen Kennedy, Debbie Kurup, Martin Marquez, Ryan Reid, Amy Ellen Richardson, Danielle Steers and Shaq Taylor.

Casting has been announced for the London production of Broadway-bound Hadestown! It was announced today that Amber Gray and Patrick Page will reprise their original New York Theatre Workshop roles of Persephone and Hades. They will be joined by Reeve Carney as Orpheus, a role he performed alongside Gray and Page at the Citadel Theatre (Edmonton, Canada). New cast members Andre De Shields and Eva Noblezada will take the roles of Hermes and Eurydice, with Rosie Fletcher, Carly Mercedes Dyer, and Gloria Onitiri as the Fates. Completing the cast are Sharif Afifi, Beth Hinton-Lever, Seyi Omooba, Aiesha Pease, Joseph Prouse, Jordan Shaw, and Shaq Taylor.
