Joe's Pub at The Public has confirmed the premiere of Bridget Everett in Rock Bottom, a brand new theatrical event commissioned as part of its New York Voices series on October 30, November 1 & 2 at 9:30 PM. Written by Everett with Tony-winning writing duo Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman and Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys, Rock Bottom is the entertainer's first major show since 2007's At Least It's Pink and the first since her critically-acclaimed tour with Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer. Joe's Pub at The Public will welcome conceptual artist, musician and educator Nora York in Water Water Everywhere / Nay Any Drop To Drink, a new work presented by Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Ballroom Marfa and the Public Concern Foundation as part of the city-wideMarfa Dialogue NY symposium on climate change. globalFEST Receives First NEA Grant to Support its Annual Flagship Festival

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa recently announced thatglobalFEST (globalfest.org) is one of 817 nonprofit organizations nationwide recommended to receivean NEA Art Works grant. This is the first NEA grant to globalFEST and will support 11th edition of the organization's annual flagship festival in New York City in January, 2014.

Joe's Pub at The Public Theater has confirmed eight bands for the Joe's Pub Stage at the just-announced and second annual Great GoogaMooga. The three-day outdoor food, drink and music festival is produced by Superfly Presents and will take place Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. The Joe's Pub Stage will host eight performances on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

Clawhammer banjo player, composer and singer ABIGAIL WASHBURN will debut POST-AMERICAN GIRL at Joe's Pub at The Public March 28 - 30 as part of NEW YORK VOICES, the popular commission series designed to help musicians make the leap from songwriting and performance to theatrical production. Washburn's new stage piece is about an American girl coming-of-age in a swiftly changing global order. Joe's Pub at The Public announces the second season of its New York Voices series, presenting new works from critically-acclaimed performers commissioned by Joe's Pub and supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The 2013 season will include the celebrated Spanish flamenco dance company Noche Flamenca; the singer-songwriter Abigail Washburn who fuses traditional forms of Appalachian and Chinese folk music; and carnal chanteuse and fearless cabaret star Bridget Everett.

This December marks the end of OUR HIT PARADE, the "hilarious" (New York Post) live, top-ten countdown at Joe's Pub at The Public that has been the centerpiece of New York's downtown performance art scene for over five years. The final shows will be November 14 at 9:30 PM, followed by two specials on December 19 at 7:30 & 10:00 PM including a 2012 TOP TEN COUNTDOWN and HITS OF OUR HIT PARADE.
