Little Angel Theatre is planning a jam-packed 2020, with perfect puppetry for babies, children and adults.

'Don't worry, you can laugh. Your children don't get the jokes,' the wise guy British comic Paul Dabeck, a/k/a The Trickster glibly remarks after a slightly naughty comment as he hosts THE ILLUSIONISTS: MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS.

If the holiday cheer seems beyond your grasp, the British Players have just the ticket; this year's 'Alice in Wonderland: A Traditional British Panto,' comes complete with a fractured take on a beloved tale, cross-dressing actors, and opportunities galore to participate in the action. Chock full of familiar tunes for young and old to sing along, this is truly a family affair, with performing families onstage mirroring the families in the audience, and more than enough fun for all.

Award-winning Wild Swan Theater continues its 40th season of bringing the finest professional theater to families with Frog and Toad, a charming production especially created for younger theater goers.  Based on Arnold Lobel's wonderful stories by the same name, Frog and Toad will captivate children from ages 3 to 8.  Through storytelling, puppets, and props, the play explores the adventures of these two very dear characters and their great friendship.

PRIMARY STAGES has announced casting for The Confession of Lily Dare, written by and starring Charles Busch (The Tribute Artist, You Should Be So Lucky) and directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister, The Tribute Artist). Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) on January 11, 2020, with opening night set for January 29, for a limited run through March 5, 2020.

Danielle Brooks and John Keating have been selected to receive the 2019 Joe A. Callaway Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation. The award, honoring the best performance in a professional production of a classic play (one written prior to World War ll) in the New York metropolitan area, will be presented at Actors' Equity Association's Eastern Regional Membership Meeting at 2 pm on Monday January 13, 2020 at the Equity offices, 165 West 46th Street in New York. Today, The Watermill Theatre announces the appointment of four new Associate Directors as part of its Associate Artist Programme. The four emerging directors have been selected to work with the producing theatre to develop their skills and build experience as they embark on the next phase of their careers. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Paul Hart, each will take on roles ranging from Assistant Directorships to fully directing productions, all with the aim of nurturing their talents and extending their knowledge. These new appointments are a part of The Watermill's continued commitment to supporting emerging theatre-makers and nurturing the talent of the future.
