Santa Fe-based Artistic Director Francisco Gella announces the relocation of the New Century Dance Project (NCDP) Festival from Salt Lake City, UT to its new home in Santa Fe, NM. The six-day event celebrating choreography and live dance performance will take place on August 2-7 at NDI New Mexico.

The Players has announced the return of theatre for the young – and the young at heart – with The Emperor’s New Clothes, opening July 15th at 10:30am! Directed and choreographed by Ilyse Robbins, with music direction by Tim Goss, The Emperor’s New Clothes will be performed by the amazing Players’ Second Company.

The National Center for Choreography - Akron will welcome the fourth cohort of the Creative Administration Research (CAR) program. Four new CAR Artist Teams include lead artists Edgar L. Page (Denver, CO), Jamal Oliver and Brandon Calhoun (Chicago, IL), Takahiro Yamamoto (Portland, OR), and Umi IMAN Siferllah-Griffin (Atlanta, GA).

Bryant Park Picnic Performances will continue on July 28 with an Ailey Extension dance class and performance from Ailey II, the celebrated second company to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

New York City Ballet announced today the promotion of Chun Wai Chan to Principal Dancer. Following a series of debuts throughout the Company’s 2021-22 Repertory Season, Chan will make his final debut this season in the role of Titania’s Cavalier in George Balanchine’s beloved full-length classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which closes out NYCB’s 2022 Spring Season with ten performances from May 21 to 29, 2022 at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. Chun Wai Chan joined New York City Ballet as a Soloist in August 2021.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced that Kansas City Ballet Company Dancer Joshua Kiesel has been selected to compete in the Helsinki International Ballet Competition. 

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Susan Jaffe announced this morning that she has been named Artistic Director of American Ballet Theatre, where she spent more than 30 years of her career. She will begin her new role at ABT in December. PBT remains in an excellent position to further realize the company's vision and mission.

Former American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Susan Jaffe has been named the Company's next Artistic Director. Jaffe's appointment, effective December 2022, was announced today by Andrew Barth, ABT Chairman of the Board of Governing Trustees.

This June, the Martha Graham Dance Company’s acclaimed second company will be back on stage for its 39th New York season with an exciting program of new works and Graham classics. The season is dedicated to Yuriko, longtime Graham dancer, teacher, and Graham 2 founder, who passed away on March 8 at the age of 102.

After a triumphant season of returning to TPAC, embarking on a nation-wide tour, and winning their first-ever Emmy Award, Nashville Ballet is set to conclude their 2021-22 season at Belmont University's brand-new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts June 4 and 5. A state-of-the-art facility built specifically to showcase the abundance of talent native to Nashville, the Company's performance will be a part of the world-class venue's inaugural season.

Held right on site at the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet, this fun and festive event will feature a wide variety of games, activities, story times, plus a special performance by the artists of NB2, Nashville Ballet's official second Company. 

Boston Ballet School (BBS) presents Next Generation, a one-night-only performance showcasing young artists of Boston Ballet II, Boston Ballet School Post Graduate program, and the Professional Division at Walnut Hill School for the Arts in collaboration with the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

Amy Hall Garner and Omar Román De Jesús were selected by Artistic Director Michael Novak to choreograph through the Taylor Company Commissions program, to be premiered during fall 2022.
