All new rehearsal photos and video footage have been released for the must-see West End comic caper, The Crown Jewels which plays at the Garrick Theatre from Friday 7 July – Saturday 16 September 2023 ahead of regional autumn engagements.

Starting life in 1984 and garnering a successful reboot in 2020, Spitting Image remains a British comedy staple. Taking jabs at every public figure possible regardless if they’re a politician, celebrity, royal family member or musician, the cult classic show has made its way to the West End following a run at Birmingham Rep.

Final casting has been announced for this summer’s must-see West End comic caper, The Crown Jewels which plays at the Garrick Theatre from Friday 7 July – Saturday 16 September 2023 ahead of regional autumn engagements.

On what would have been Comedy legend Victoria Wood's 70th Birthday, Sean Foley, the double Olivier Award-winning Artistic Director of Birmingham Repertory Theatre has announced the creation of the first ever major playwriting prize dedicated to the art of Comedy.

Meghan and Harry, two of the stars of Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical written by a tour de force comedy team made up of  Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) Matt Forde (The Political Party) and double Olivier award winner Sean Foley (The Upstart Crow, The Play What I Wrote) made an appearance Friday, May 12, 2023 at The Albert Hall. As Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical  written by a tour de force comedy team made up of  Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) Matt Forde (The Political Party) and double Olivier award winner  Sean Foley (The Upstart Crow, The Play What I Wrote) heads towards its  West End Premiere at the Phoenix Theatre the full cast of voice-over artists and puppeteers and is released.

First look photos have been released of Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) and Mel Giedroyc (BBC 1’s The Great British Bake Off, Channel 4’s Light Lunch) who are set to start in the hilarious new West End comedy, The Crown Jewels which runs at The Garrick Theatre from Friday 7 July – Saturday 16 September 2023 ahead of regional tour dates.

This is the royal event of the year. The Crown Jewels is a riotous new comedy based on the most unbelievable royal caper in British history.

Production shots have been released for Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World, which is currently playing its world premiere performances at Birmingham Rep until Sat 11 Mar 2023.

Danse Danse reveals a highlight of its 2023–2024 season: Message In A Bottle, a spectacular production celebrating contemporary and street dance styles, with a soundtrack of hits by renowned singer–songwriter Sting. A performance event by choreographer Kate Prince, featuring the dancers of ZooNation, on stage March 12 to 16, 2024 at Place des Arts.

Birmingham Rep have announced that the smash-hit production of C.S. Lewis’ classic, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will roar into The Rep this Christmas direct from London’s West End from Tue 14 Nov 2023 – Sun 28 Jan 2024.

Twelve voice-over artists, a mix of actors, impressionists and comedians have just started work on recording voices for over one hundred Spitting Image characters for the World Premiere of the stage show,  Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World which previews at Birmingham Rep from 1 February.

Suella Braverman, Nigel Farage, Jacob Rees-Mogg, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will join the cast of the new stage production  Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World which opens at Birmingham Rep on 1 February, and runs until 11 March 2023.  Never seen before photos of their puppets in rehearsal can be seen here!

Following a successful Political Party West End residency extension, Matt Forde is extending again through July 2023. The news coincides with Sir Keir Starmer (sold-out), Emily Maitlis & Jon Sopel (sold-out), Eddie Izzard, Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Ian Blackford announced for the upcoming guest line-up .

40 years after the hugely popular satirical sketch show Spitting Image was first filmed in Birmingham, the iconic puppets return to the city for the World Premiere of Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World at Birmingham Rep.
