Documentary HERB ALPERT IS… to Have World Premiere in October

On October 1st, preeminent global theatrical distributor Abramorama will host the world premiere of the documentary Herb Alpert Is…. The global event will take place via Facebook LIVE and will feature a Q&A with Herb Alpert and director John Scheinfeld moderated by the Grammy Museum’s Artistic Director Scott Goldman immediately following.

The GRAMMY Museum® announces Peggy Lee 100th Birthday Celebration on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in honor of the centennial anniversary of one of the 20th century's most important musical influences in the world of jazz and popular music.

GRAMMY Museum Presents 'This Is Nat King Cole'

GRAMMY® winner Nat King Cole is one of the most honored and iconic performing and recording artists of all time. To showcase the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient's professional and personal achievements, the GRAMMY Museum® proudly presents This Is Nat King Cole, which will bookend his centennial celebration. The exhibit will open on, what would have been, Cole's 101st birthday, March 17, 2020, when Cole's daughters, Timolin and Casey Cole, will discuss the stories behind the exhibit with moderator Scott Goldman at the Museum's Clive Davis Theater. The exhibit will run through summer 2020.

GRAMMY Museum Announces 'Walk, Don't Run: 60 Years Of The Ventures'

 Sixty years after the release of their first hit, 'Walk, Don't Run,' the Ventures are considered the most influential, best-selling instrumental band in rock and roll history. To showcase the group's impact on pop culture, guitar players, and their worldwide fan base, the GRAMMY Museum® proudly announces Walk, Don't Run: 60 Years Of The Ventures, a new exhibit showcasing original items from the group's six-decade career including instruments, tour programs, never-before-seen photos, vinyl, and more. The exhibit will open on Dec. 7, and will run until Aug. 3, 2020.

Craft Recordings Announces 'Prestige 70' Podcast & Video Series

Craft Recordings is proud to announce the launch of its very first podcast, Prestige 70—a limited series that salutes the legacy and spirit of the venerable jazz label Prestige Records. Produced as part of the label's 70th-anniversary celebrations, Prestige 70 features intimate conversations between acclaimed musicians, composers and producers, and host Scott Goldman—who, as the longtime moderator of the GRAMMY® Museum Public Programs Series, has interviewed hundreds of iconic figures in music. Through the lens of contemporary artists, Prestige 70 not only looks back at the musicians and recordings that made the label so important but also looks to the future, as a new generation continues the tradition of redefining and pushing the boundaries of jazz.

Don McLean Announces U.S. & European Tour Dates

There is no slowing down for one of America's greatest singer-songwriters, Don McLean! Having recently honored the 60th anniversary of Buddy Holly's death and receiving Million-Air certifications from BMI for over 5 million certified airplays of 'American Pie' and 3 million certified airplays for 'Vincent (Starry, Starry Night),' McLean continues to bring his classic hit songs to stages around the world.

GRAMMY Museum Presents THE PRISON CONCERTS: FOLSOM AND SAN QUENTIN

Widely known as the godfather of music photography, the late Jim Marshall maintained a 50-year career that resulted in more than 500 album covers, an abundance of magazine covers, and some of the most celebrated images in blues, jazz, country, and rock and roll, including those from Johnny Cash's notable Folsom and San Quentin prison concerts. To showcase these powerful snapshots of a legendary musician by a legendary photographer, the GRAMMY Museum® proudly presents The Prison Concerts: Folsom And San Quentin (Jim Marshall's Photographs Of Johnny Cash), a new exhibit showcasing Marshall's photos from Cash's historic prison concerts in 1968 and 1969 featured in the art book Johnny Cash At Folsom & San Quentin. The exhibit will open on Oct. 23, when Amelia Davis, Jim Marshall's longtime assistant and the sole beneficiary of his estate; John Carter Cash, Johnny Cash's son; and Scott Bomar, author of Johnny Cash At Folsom & San Quentin; will discuss the stories behind these photographs at the Clive Davis Theater as part of the Museum's An Evening With program moderated by GRAMMY Museum Artistic Director Scott Goldman. The exhibit will run through February 2019.

Michael Sticka Named Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum

The GRAMMY Museum® has expanded its executive leadership team and appointed Michael Sticka as Executive Director, responsible for the organization's strategic direction and leading all aspects of operations, including curatorial, development, marketing, grants and awards, public and education programs, and more. Previously, Sticka served as Controller and Senior Director of Finance and Administration and was critical in overseeing the Museum's integration with the GRAMMY Foundation® in 2017, as well as designing and managing a strategic plan for the combined organization's future.

GRAMMY Museum And Warner Bros. Present 'The Get Animated Invasion' Pop-Up Exhibit

The GRAMMY Museum® and Warner Bros. have teamed up to present 'The Get Animated Invasion,' an interactive exhibit that celebrates the music that generations have come to know and love from Warner Bros. iconic animation shorts and films. Warner Bros. has a long history of invading pop culture though music, from popularizing classical compositions to creating mainstream hits that stand the test of time; the latest of which is the animated feature Smallfoot, featuring an all-star voice cast and original music including a new song from Niall Horan. The pop-up exhibit will take over the GRAMMY Museum's second floor, Aug. 19–Sept. 9, 2018, making this Get Animated's second pop-up exhibit following their inaugural invasion in New York last fall.

Grammy Museum Announces Lois MacMillan As 2018 Jane Ortner Education Award Recipient

The GRAMMY Museum® is pleased to announce Lois MacMillan of South Middle School in Grants Pass, Ore., as the recipient of the 2018 Jane Ortner Education Award. The award honors K-12 academic teachers who use music in the classroom as a powerful educational tool. MacMillan will receive an honorarium and will be recognized later this year at the annual GRAMMY Museum Gala in Los Angeles. South Middle School will also receive a grant.

Grammy Museum Partners with HowStuffWorks to Launch REQUIRED LISTENING Podcast

The GRAMMY Museum® and HowStuffWorks, the award-winning and industry-leading podcast network, have partnered to launch a new podcast titled 'Required Listening' featuring conversations with legendary and up-and-coming artists and music industry icons revealing candid stories about their career trajectories and their greatest successes. Hosted by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Scott Goldman, episodes are released weekly and provide listeners with an insider's perspective on what inspires music creators, how they approach their craft, and where they're going next.

New Exhibit Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of CHEECH & CHONG's UP IN SMOKE To Open April 20

GRAMMY®-winning comedy duo Cheech & Chong will be the subject of a new exhibit opening at the GRAMMY Museum® on 4/20. Titled Cheech & Chong: Still Rollin'—Celebrating 40 Years Of Up In Smoke, the exhibit is curated in collaboration with GRAMMY-winning producer Lou Adler, who uncovered the legendary duo, produced many of their albums, and directed the film.

JOHN LEE HOOKER: KING OF THE BOOGIE Opens March 29 at the Grammy Museum L.A. LIVE

To continue commemorating what would have been legendary GRAMMY®-winning blues artist John Lee Hooker's 100th birthday, the GRAMMY Museum® will open John Lee Hooker: King Of The Boogie in the Special Exhibits Gallery on the second floor on Thursday, March 29, 2018. On the night of the opening, Diane Hooker-Roan and Zakiya Hooker, daughters of the late bluesman, will appear at the GRAMMY Museum for a special program.

VIDEO: Billboard Premieres The Oak Ridge Boys Latest Music Video PRAY TO JESUS

The Oak Ridge Boys are excited to announce the exclusive premiere of their latest video, “Pray To Jesus,” a song that was originally recorded by its co-writer, Brandy Clark, who was GRAMMY nominated for “Best New Artist” in 2015. The video recently debuted via Billboard.com and is included in the Oaks' forthcoming new album, 17th Avenue Revival, available everywhere March 16th via Lightning Rod Records.

Oak Ridge Boys Set For Intimate Performance At The Grammy Museum's Clive Davis Theatre

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome the Oak Ridge Boys to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation and performance spotlighting their forthcoming new album, 17th Avenue Revival. The performance will be hosted by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Scott Goldman. Recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A and produced by acclaimed pop/rock producer Dave Cobb, this album (set for release on March 16) finds the Oak Ridge Boys returning to their gospel roots. But a different kind of gospel. One that took a hard look at the early days of rock and roll, which was influenced by spiritual, or black gospel.
