An evening of unsung and new songs as well as hits by Stephen Schwartz will be performed at a Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish a special benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation. This one night only show will be Monday, November 19th at 7:00 pm at The Cutting Room, 44 East 32nd Street, NYC. The musical evening will have performances by Stephen Schwartz and Tony Award winners and Broadway stars to be announced. Musical Director is Michael Lavine, and Paul Kreppel is the Concert Director, with Host Scott Coulter and the Creator is Carol de Giere.
"Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," Dorothy said upon stepping into the color-filled landscape of Oz bringing the magic of Technicolor pictures to moviegoers in the 1930s. Since then "The Wizard of Oz" has become a beloved classic with numerous adaptations including two re-interpretations of the Broadway stage, "Wicked" and "The Wiz." Pacific Symphony will bring the "Music of Oz" to life with vocalists Kelli Rabke, Law Dunford, Scott Coulter and pianist John Boswell on Nov. 9-10, led by Principal Pops conductor Richard Kaufman. The orchestra will play selected songs from each of the productions, including some of the beloved classics such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Defying Gravity."

The Bangor Symphony Orchestra's annual Pops concert is coming up on March 18th, 4pm, at the Collins Center for the Arts. This year, it's all about Oz! The Wonderful Music of Oz, produced by Spot-On Entertainment, will feature hits from Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and more, sung by a talented cast featuring some of Broadway's best and brightest.
Jerry Herman lives a few miles away in Miami and had to cancel a surprise appearance last night but his glorious music and lyrics, sung by some of the best voices in show business filled the air in this great venue in the City of Aventura. Klea Blackhurst, Scott Coulter, Jason Graae, and Debbie Gravitte some of Broadway's most acclaimed artist were the cast in 'Jerry Herman, The Broadway Legacy Concert' produced by ASCAP's Michael A. Kerker. Jerry may not have given the audience a surprise Valentine's Day visit but they will long remember Jason Graae singing 'I Won't Send You Roses' from Mack & Mabel.
