The only trouble with these 90-minute musicals that start at 7pm is that I really can't get all that enthused over the big 8:15 number.

The Town Hall presents THE EIGHTH ANNUAL BROADWAY CABARET FESTIVAL, created especially for Town Hall by Scott Siegel. The annual Broadway Cabaret Festival returns this October 13, 21 & 26, 2012. They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

The next generation of Broadway performers were chosen during auditions throughout the spring and come from theatrical institutions across the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Mellon, Marymount and The New School. These young future performers then made their auspicious debut on The Town Hall stage in what has now become regarded as the country's national showcase. The words, “Once upon a time…,” were followed by that familiar Sondheim vamp, and Danielle Ferland skipped onto the stage just as she had 25 years ago as the original Little Red Riding Hood in Into The Woods.  Sure enough, there was a wolf there to greet her, but instead of encountering Granny, The Baker's Wife and The Witch, Little Red found herself in a forest inhabited by a young French revolutionary, an elderly Holocaust survivor, a roller-skating duo and a former President of The United States.

Carole J. Bufford made her entrance on the New York cabaret stage in the Metropolitan Room's MetroStar Talent Challenge. Immediately following, she was asked to perform at the 2009 Cabaret Convention at Jazz@Lincoln Center presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. In addition, Ms. Bufford has been featured in numerous Broadway By The Year concerts, both at The Town Hall and in California. She has also performed in All Singin', All Dancin' as well as the recent Tribute to Judy Garland and The Art of American Dance at The Town Hall where she shared the stage with Lorna Luft and Susan Stroman in an all-star cast.
