From the award-winning writer of Your Healing is Killing Me, blu, and The Panza Monologues, Virginia Grise returns to Tucson with Their Dogs Came with Them, a new play about the destruction and displacement of a Mexican-American community, roaming dogs, quarantines, earthmovers and ancient voladores.

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director), will open its' season with the New York Premiere of Idris Goodwin's Bars and Measures, directed by Kristan Seemel. Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University School of the Arts have announced the winners of Columbia@Roundabout's 2019 New Play Reading Series. As part of the collaborative partnership between Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University, the reading series awards three playwrights from the current MFA program and recent alumni with a cash prize as well as a reading in Roundabout's Rehearsal Hall, followed by a post-reading reception. Five finalists have also received cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional work. No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award-winning, not-for-profit theatre. The reading series is made possible by a grant from The Tow Foundation.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of educating and inspiring young musicians through its Orchestra, Jazz, Chamber Music, Composition, Musical Theater Composition, Apprenticeship Conducting, and First Music commissioning programs. Actress and playwright E. Katherine Kerr has died, according to The New York Times. She was 82.

Theatre Tuscaloosa will present its summer musical, Grease, July 12-21 in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College.

The Flea Theater is proud to announce the addition of six new Resident Directors to its intensive practicum for early-career directors. Rebecca Aparicio, Jake Beckhard, Daniella Caggiano, Lauren DeLeon, Will Steinberger, and Raz Golden will join the current group of Resident Directors. 

McCarter will welcome a group of esteemed and emerging playwrights and theater artists to Princeton for the Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat. The annual retreat in June is a centerpiece of McCarter's LAB, a platform and creative incubator devoted to ongoing theatrical development and artist cultivation. The 2019 Retreat will take place from June 12 - June 19.

 In its World Premiere, Justin Huertas' musical THE LAST WORLD OCTOPUS WRESTLING CHAMPION will play at ArtsWest from June 20 through July 28, with ArtsWest Artistic Director Mathew Wright directing.

Adjusted Realists, a company devoted to telling theatrical stories about slightly unhinged worlds, in association with Weber State University, is thrilled to present ASYLUM SONG, written by award-winning poet Jeanne Marie Beaumont and directed by Elizabeth Ostler.
