MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Begins Performances at the Argyle Tomorrow

The Argyle Theatre launches its 2nd season with the smash hit musical Million Dollar Quartet with book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, original concept by Mr. Mutrux, inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.

Cast And Creative Team Announced For MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET At The Argyle Theatre In Babylon

Long Island's newest year-round professional theatrical venue, The Argyle Theatre (Mark and Dylan Perlman, Managing Partners; Evan Pappas, Artistic Director), launches its 2nd season with the smash hit musical Million Dollar Quartet with book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, original concept by Mr. Mutrux, inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Performances begin Thursday, May 16, 2019 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 23, 2019 at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island). Opening Night is Saturday evening, May 18, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Forerunner Technologies, Inc. is the Presenting Sponsor of Million Dollar Quartet.

Heritage Theatre Festival is preparing to get its 2019 season off to a rocking start with the Tony Award-winning musical Million Dollar Quartet. The show tells the story of the momentous night of December 4, 1956, when legendary Sun Studios owner Sam Phillips brought together musical icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis for a one-time-only jam session for the ages.

BWW Review: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET: Rock 'n' Roll Is Here To Stay

On December 4, 1956, at Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, a great moment in rock 'n' roll history occurred, almost by chance. Record producer Sam Phillips, sometimes referred to as the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll," brought together the past, present, and future artists of his recording company for an impromptu jam session which was photographed and recorded for posterity. Nile Scott Hawver (Carl Perkins), Scheider (Jerry Lee Lewis), Austin Wayne Price (Johnny Cash), and Luke Linsteadt (Elvis Presley) act out their characters with just enough imitation to evoke the originals, while never sliding into caricature.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Makes Its Return To The Stage

After hosting the World Premiere in 2007, Village Theatre is ecstatic to mount an all-new production of Million Dollar Quartet complete with a rock star team of professionals from around the country. The blockbuster hit story of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins is set to run in Issaquah May 9 - June 23, 2019 before moving to Everett June 28 - July 28, 2019.

The Music Business Association (Music Biz) today announces this year's inductees for its Music Business Hall of Fame, including the late Sir George Martin, who will be inducted by his son Giles Martin. This year's honorees will be recognized during the Music Biz 2019 Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner -- sponsored by BuzzAngle Music, City National Bank, Cracker Barrel, Jammber, and TiVo -- as part of Music Biz's Annual Conference on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm.

Million Dollar Quartet opened Sunday, February 17 at Theatre at the Center in Munster. The show stars Zach Sorrow as Elvis Presley, Michael Kurowski as Jerry Lee Lewis, Tommy Malouf as Johnny Cash, Zachary Stevenson as Carl Perkins, Sean Fortunato as record producer Sam Phillips and Aeriel Williams as singer Dyanne.  Directed by Daryl Brooks, Million Dollar Quartet's cast also includes musicians Michael Sinclair as Jay and Nick Anderson as Fluke.  The show continues its extended run through March 31.  This production is sponsored by Pat Binkley.

Dale Watson Premieres Fan-Inspired Track 'David Buxkemper'

Over his lengthy career, honky-tonk artist Dale Watson has found songwriting inspiration in real-life situations and his interractions with fans. A chance email Watson received from Texas fan David Buxkemper led to the aforementioned 'truckin' farmer' being immortalized in his namesake song, which appears on CALL ME LUCKY, Watson's February 15 release on Red House Records.
