'When I was growing up, I wanted to be a writer, a novelist, and that's what eventually drew me into acting and then directing and writing for the stage. It was always about storytelling.' Hunter Foster is reminiscing about the aspirations that led him to seek a life in the theatre. The award-winning actor, director, writer is taking a short break from rehearsal at Maine State Music Theatre, where he is about to open his twelfth production of Million Dollar Quartet on June 7th.

Compass Records is excited to announce that The Boot is currently streaming in its entirety the new album, TO RISE YOU GOTTA FALL, by renowned singer/songwriter Nicki Bluhm. TO RISE YOU GOTTA FALL was recorded in Memphis at the legendary Sam Phillips Recording studio and features two co-writes with Ryan Adams and a Dan Penn cover. For these live band analog sessions, Bluhm brought in producer Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price, Jason Isbell), and the studio band included Will Sexton (guitar), Ross-Spang (guitars), Ken Coomer (drums and percussion), Al Gamble (Hammond B3), Rick Steff (piano) and Dave Smith (bass), with Reba Russell and Susan Marshall (background singers), Sam Shoup (string arrangements) and various special guests.
As last season's closer, Geva Theatre Center's production of Million Dollar Quartet was a complete sell-out and was extended for an additional week. By popular demand, the show is back for a limited run, special production in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from June 14 to July 8. Martin Kemp will star as smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn in the multi award-winning CHICAGO at the Phoenix Theatre in London's West End from Monday 2 July for a limited season until Saturday 1 September 2018. Baltimore Piano Phenom Josh Christina to Release Third Album 'Instincts' Available with Baltimore Album Release Concert May 20. Baltimore-based piano sensation Josh Christina announced today the upcoming release of his third album 'Instincts,' which will be available May 20 - the same day Christina will host an album release concert at the Grand Hall of the Towson American Legion. The album offers eleven tracks, eight written by Christina, one by two-time Grammy award winner Jon Carroll, one co-written with Carroll, and one by Bill Danoff (Starland Vocal Band and writer of 'Take Me Home Country Roads'). The album was co-produced by Christina and Carroll and recorded at historic Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis, TN. 'It was such a great learning experience writing and co-producing with Jon Carroll,' said Christina. 'This album is a real maturation of my writing skills and musically takes me to the next level.' Christina has appeared on the 'Late, Late Show' in Ireland, where he debuted his single 'Rockabilly Saturday Night' from his last album 'I'm 21.' He frequently plays sold out shows and is in high demand in the Baltimore-Washington area. He has been invited to perform at the Cincinnati Blues Festival in August of this year. Graceland has announced that five time GRAMMY Award winning country superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will bring his eclectic blend of rockabilly, honky-tonk, and traditional country music to The Guest House at GracelandTM Theater on June 9 for an electrifying, one-night only, concert performance at 8 p.m. Opening for Stuart will be the London-based, country-folk-pop quartet The Wandering Hearts whose deft fingerpicking, rousing choruses, dark-hued lyrics, and sweet, close vocal harmonies have drawn comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and accolades from fellow musicians including Stuart. The show will also feature legendary Sun Records drummer, W.S. Holland.
