The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival will be hosted from August 24–September 2 in Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St.) and at venues throughout the city. Among many featured headline guests, on September 1 Chicago native Ramsey Lewis will perform his last live performance in Chicago before his retirement. Hoxton Hall today announces the full cast for Female Parts Shorts: A Woman Alone, The Immigrant and A Mother - a collection of short plays directed by Karena Johnson, Artistic Director of Hoxton Hall. Johnson directs Gehane Strehler in A Woman Alone, Clare Perkins in The Immigrant and Rebecca Saire in A Mother. The three monologues will be performed in sequence, opening on Thursday 15 March, with previews from Tuesday 13 March, running until Saturday 31 March.

Tron Theatre Company is working with Sherman Theatre, Cardiff to present the first out-of-London production of Stephen Adly Guirgis's The Motherf**ker with the Hat. After a run at Tron Theatre (1st 17th March), the production will be presented at Sherman Theatre from 21st 31st March. The fast-moving, foul-mouthed play was Guirgis's Broadway debut in 2011 and this will be the production's Scottish and Welsh premiere.
