Letters Live, a celebration of the enduring power of literary correspondence performed by a group of renowned talent, will return to The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) Sunday, April 19 at 7:30 pm and Monday, April 20 at 7:30 pm in support of PEN America. A sensation since its 2013 London debut, Letters Live played to sold-out audiences at The Town Hall in 2018 and recently performed to a sold-out crowd at London's legendary Royal Albert Hall.

Amazon Studios today announced the first group of series regulars set to star in the new Amazon Original series based on stories from the iconic 'The Lord of the Rings' novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. Newly revealed cast members including Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman. Production will begin in February.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) begins performances for the 16th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL on Wednesday, January 8. The Personal History of David Copperfield leads the list of nominations for the 2019 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs), announced this morning by British actors Naomi Ackie and Joe Cole at the Regent Street Cinema. Armando Iannucci's fresh take on Dickens' novel about the ups and downs in the life of its eponymous character is recognised for Best British Independent Film and Best Screenplay sponsored by BBC Films, amongst nine other awards. Dev Patel is nominated for Best Actor, with co-stars Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie competing in the respective Supporting categories. The film also features heavily in the technical categories with nominations for Best Casting sponsored by Casting Society of America & Spotlight, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing sponsored by Intermission Film, Best Make Up & Hair Design sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Best Production Design sponsored by Studio Juice.

Magic Light Pictures, the multi Oscar-nominated production company, has been providing festive family treats to BBC audiences for a decade. For Christmas 2019, they'll bring long-time favourite children's picture book The Snail And The Whale to BBC One.

Fane have announced an Autumn programme packed with star names from the world of literature, podcasts, television and stage.

Fane Productions has announced Emmy Award-winner Ann Dowd, acclaimed for her television role as Aunt Lydia on Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, as a special guest for Margaret Atwood Live on 10 September. Dowd was the recipient of the 2017 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the role, and has also been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and won a Critics Choice Award for her work on the show. Her involvement in Margaret Atwood Live follows news that Aunt Lydia's character will return in The Testaments. Dowd also narrates Aunt Lydia's chapters for the audiobook edition of The Testaments. It was also announced that two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins will make a guest appearance on the evening. Dowd and Hawkins join the previously announced Lily James and Margaret Atwood herself at the event, which takes place on the Lyttelton stage at the National Theatre and is a celebration of the global publication of the Booker-shortlisted The Testaments, Margaret Atwood's highly anticipated sequel to her seminal work, The Handmaid's Tale.

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the summer intern production, INCOGNITO by Nick Payne, directed by Bay Street's DirectingProducing intern Kellie M. Beck and starring Bay Street Theater's 2019 Acting Apprentices. This production will run as a show directed, produced, designed and acted entirely by the summer intern company at Bay Street Theater. Performances run from August 8 - 10 with twilight performances at 4 pm.  Tickets will be sold as Pay What You Can style directly at the box office.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces full casting for Artistic Director Michael Longhurst's inaugural Donmar production Europe by David Greig. As the world premiere of Ishy Din's Approaching Empty opens at Kiln Theatre, the company's Artistic Director, Indhu Rubasingham, announces the casting for the UK premiere of Florian Zeller's The Son, in a translation by Christopher Hampton. Michael Longhurst directs Amanda Abbington, Laurie Kynaston, John Light, Oseloka Obi, Amaka Okafor and Martin Turner. The production opens on 26 February, with previews from 20 February, and runs until 6 April.

Directed by Dennis Garnhum, this award-winning production tells the true story of Marc Hall, the Ontario teenager who took his school board to court when it refused to let him attend prom with his boyfriend. PROM QUEEN: The Musical runs for 12 performances only on the Spriet Stage from September 18 to 29, 2018.
