Center Theatre Group's production of 'Amelie, A New Musical' at the Ahmanson Theatre opened December 16 and continues through January 15, 2017. Based on the motion picture written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant, 'Amelie, A New Musical' will have its Broadway premiere at the Walter Kerr Theatre, beginning performances on March 9, 2017 and opening April 3, 2017. Three finalists have been selected for Center Theatre Group's 2017 Richard E. Sherwood Award: Jenny Foldenauer, Pablo Santiago and Keith Skretch. Center Theatre Group recognizes and celebrates this year's finalists for their exceptional contributions to the Los Angeles theatre landscape and their work as innovative and adventurous artists.

They first performed together onstage as students at Tufts University in December 1991.  On January 12, 2017, Guster will return to Boston to celebrate its 25th anniversary with four consecutive shows at the Paradise Rock Club from January 12-15. 

The world premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's 'Vicuña,' directed by Robert Egan, opened this Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Performances for 'Vicuña' continue through November 20. The cast includes Linda Gehringer, Brian George, Harry Groener, Ramiz Monsef and Samantha Sloyan. August Wilson's hard-hitting 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' opened September 11 and continues through October 16, 2016, at the Center Theatre Group/ Mark Taper Forum. Jon Polito, perhaps best known for his roles in the Coen Brothers' 'The Big Lebowski' and 'Miller's Crossing,' passed away yesterday, September 1st at the age of 65.
