Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. The program of more than 140 narrative features, documentaries, episodic series and shorts runs from October 24-30 at the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center in New York City.

MARY POPPINS RETURNS is a sequel to the classic 1964 film, MARY POPPINS, starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer and Julie Walters with Colin Firth and Meryl Streep. This highly-anticipated sequel will be the hit of the Christmas box-office, but until then, we thought it would be fun to go back in time to 1964 to see what life was like and what was popular when the original film was released 54 years ago!

SHOWTIME has announced that Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaid's Tale) will direct the first two episodes of the network's eight-episode limited series about Fox News founder Roger Ailes, based upon the extensive reporting of Gabriel Sherman in his bestselling book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, and starring Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind) in the title role. Skogland returns to SHOWTIME, where she has previously directed shows including PENNY DREADFUL, THE BORGIAS, THE L WORD® and QUEER AS FOLK. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks.

A 2016 Off-Broadway hit, the affectionate spoof now follows Hamilton over the pond.

Sherman co-wrote the initial episode with Oscar® winner Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, Win Win), who will executive produce with Emmy winner Jason Blum. The project is a co-production from SHOWTIME and Blumhouse Television (Sharp Objects, The Normal Heart). The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.

It's funny-or-die-in-the-graveyard time when Jeremy Kehoe's dark, absurdist, existential comedy, 'Movin' On Up', makes its West Coast premiere at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival at The Complex Hollywood.

Beau Knapp (Seven Seconds, The Nice Guys), Alexis Bledel (The Handmaid's Tale, Gilmore Girls), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Jeremie Harris (Legion) and Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) will lead the cast of CRYPTO.  The film is directed by John Stalberg, Jr., written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio based on an original story by Jeffrey Ingber, and produced by Yale Productions' Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, along with David Frigerio.
