Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia. Recently married couple Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley will premiere four original plays in rep this March. 'Midtown March Medley,' as the series is called, will feature a comedy musical act, a two-hander, a caper and a family drama. There's plenty of classical music, comedy, incest, strokes and murder. Tom Andersen, Scott Coulter and Tim DiPasqua wrapped up their run of 'Southern Comfort' on Sunday, Nov. 27, with a live recording of their award-winning country-music revue at the Metropolitan Room, 34 W. 22nd St., New York City. They performed classic and contemporary hits by Vince Gill, kd lang, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. Next, they will be performing 'Southern Comfort' on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at the White Plains Performing Center in White Plains, N.Y. and Feb. 20-21 at 8 p.m. at the Daniels Pavilion in Naples, Fla.

The Metropolitan Room will launch a new monthly series entitled Broadway on 22nd Street, beginning February 28. The concerts will feature IN THE HEIGHTS stars Nancy Ticotin, Ruben Flores and Doreen Montalvo. The concerts take place at 7PM, and doors open at 6:30 PM.
