BroadwayWorld.com is very excited to announce that we will be returning to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater in 2014, kicking off a year-long celebration of the community and our 10th anniversary with regularly scheduled concerts, live streams and special events in a BIG way. The concert series will launch on January 20, 2014 with BROADWAYWORLD VISITS OZ, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. BROADWAY BARES XXII: HAPPY ENDINGS, which is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS was held at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street, NYC). BroadwayWorld.com was there to capture all the excitement, fun and sexiness backstage!

On Friday evening, May 24, Playbill's Blake Ross and BroadwayWorld.com's Rob and Jennifer Diamond co-hosted the only birthday party that took two editors of two major theatre web sites to plan ... Director/Producer Richard Jay-Alexander's 60th Birthday Bash! The party, held on the third floor of theatre district hot spot Angus McIndoe's restaurant, played host to friends, family, colleagues and more, so we couldn't resist sharing some of Linda Lenzi's wonderful pictures with you. Happy 60th Birthday!

Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia. Salgado Productions is excited to be supporting latino writer Carlos Mendoza in the developing stages of 'Valencia' a new full-length musical.

Yesterday March 26th, Tim Federle, author of Better Nate Than Ever, interviewed the 19 year old author, Henry Hodges, who wrote 'How To Act Like a Kid,' at the Drama Book Shop. The interview was followed by a Q&A with the audience followed by a book signing. BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out full photo coverage below!

Recently married couple Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley will premiere four original plays in rep this March. 'Midtown March Medley,' as the series is called, will feature a comedy musical act, a two-hander, a caper and a family drama. There's plenty of classical music, comedy, incest, strokes and murder. Tom Andersen, Scott Coulter and Tim DiPasqua wrapped up their run of 'Southern Comfort' on Sunday, Nov. 27, with a live recording of their award-winning country-music revue at the Metropolitan Room, 34 W. 22nd St., New York City. They performed classic and contemporary hits by Vince Gill, kd lang, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. Next, they will be performing 'Southern Comfort' on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at the White Plains Performing Center in White Plains, N.Y. and Feb. 20-21 at 8 p.m. at the Daniels Pavilion in Naples, Fla.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) just held their 10th Annual OUTAuction presented by Bud Light and ROKK Vodka! The 10th anniversary of the largest and most visible art auction event in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community celebrated established and emerging artists as well as recognizing GLAAD's Top 100 Artists. The Metropolitan Room is proud to present this monthly series that will feature some of the most talented performers from The Great White Way. Each Month three Broadway performers will be featured in this monthly series. No Sets,No Costumes and No Fourth Wall. Just them and a piano. The series kick off in February with Nancy Ticotin,Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores from Broadways TONY Award winning musical In The Heights.

The Metropolitan Room will launch a new monthly series entitled Broadway on 22nd Street, beginning February 28. The concerts will feature IN THE HEIGHTS stars Nancy Ticotin, Ruben Flores and Doreen Montalvo. The concerts take place at 7PM, and doors open at 6:30 PM.
