BWW Review: The Band Is Where It's At In ROCK OF AGES
by Herbert Paine - Jun 6, 2016

The band is the essential heartbeat of rock & roll! In Arizona Broadway Theatre's current production of ROCK OF AGES, Mark Foreman (keyboards), Daniel Stotz (bass), Douglas Ramlow (percussion), and Andrew Hake and Jeff Lauffer (guitars) prove the point with an explosive and electrifying nonstop performance that plays true to the distinctive attributes of glam metal. ROCK OF AGES is a totally amped-up and vigorous medley of '80's hits wrapped around Chris D'Arienzo's otherwise very conventional and 'irrepressible love story.'

BWW Reviews: Arizona Broadway Theatre's WHITE CHRISTMAS Is A Yuletide Treat
by Herbert Paine - Dec 2, 2014

It's Yuletide at Arizona Broadway Theatre, and the musical du jour is the ever-appealing White Christmas, served with all the sugar and spice that has made Irving Berlin's classic a seasonal favorite. In his directorial/choreographic debut at ABT, Stephen Casey has imbued this production with distinctive style and energy. His ensemble has laced the show's punch with elixirs of song and dance that leave you wanting an encore. A special moment in this production is Rori Nogee's oomphatic delivery of Let Me Sing and I'm Happy.

BWW Reviews: THE ANGRY HOUSEWIVES Rock the House at Arizona Broadway Theatre
by Herbert Paine - Sep 8, 2014

When it comes to consistency and quality in musical performance, Arizona Broadway Theatre stands among the top of the Valley of the Sun's list. Its current production of The Angry Housewives closes its Ninth Season with a rollicking and rolling blast from the past ~ the '80's, that is ~ featuring an outstanding cast of eight accomplished and highly talented actors. The show's tempo goes upbeat when the fab four transform from models of civic virtue to heavy metal. It's a sight to behold, particularly when Molly Lajoie, in a sparkling and energetic turn of song and dance, morphs from meek wife to raging rocker, takes to the mike, and hammers out an unforgettable rendition of Corn Flakes.
