The Acting Company (Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) will honor director and artistic leader Bill Rauch and the married civic leaders Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel and Ambassador Carl Spielvogel- individuals whose exemplary work aligns with the artistic and educational ideals of the storied repertory company that produces nationally recognized theater productions and arts education programs-at the Company's 2018 Fall Gala, on November 12. Held at the historic Metropolitan Club (One East 60th Street), the event will bring together awards, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, dinner, and cocktails in celebration of theater and its contribution to American society.

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and Milwaukee Public Schools continue to partner for the Center's performing arts outreach program - Arts Connect. The Center is thrilled to announce this program is continuing to grow with its fourth Summer Arts Camp during the run of the Broadway show, An American in Paris. This opportunity is free of cost and includes students from MPS' Riverside University High School, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School and Milwaukee High School of the Arts who have a strong interest in the performing arts. This program gives these students access to arts professionals and the chance to experience various aspects of the performing arts industry first hand.

The Tempel Lipizzans, the world's largest privately-owned herd of Lipizzan horses, welcomes horses and riders from Chile-based Escuela Clasica Lipizzana, Latin America's first and only Lipizzan herd, to participate in Tempel Lipizzans' 60th anniversary celebration. Throughout the month of July 2018, the "Lipizzans of the Americas" will together present equestrian dressage performances as part of the Tempel Lipizzans regular summer performance season. Escuela Clasica Lipizzana will also appear with the Tempel Lipizzans at their 60th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Saturday, July 21 at 5:30 p.m. Tempel Lipizzans perform at pastoral Tempel Farms, located just north of Chicago in Old Mill Creek, IL.
ROMEO AND JULIET Return to DC For Annual Free For All

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

Imagine looking out onto the stage where John Wilkes Booth brandishes a pistol at the audience only a few feet away while the balladeer (Patrick Beasley) sings, 'Some say it was your voice had gone, some say it was the booze. Some say you killed a country, John, because of bad reviews' in the song 'The Ballad of Booth.'
