THE WANDERER, written by Charles Messina, is a new musical based on the life of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician Dion DiMucci. The play chronicles Dion's life from his early years in The Bronx through his rise to fame and confronts Dion's struggles with his musical identity, his battle with drug addiction, his spiritual awakening and his place in Rock n' Roll history. Nancy Romer, a member of the People's Climate March Steering Committee, will discuss how to promote a culture of sustainability and environmental justice March 3 following the performance of 'Extreme Whether' by Karen Malpede at La MaMa Theater, 66 East 4th Street. The play is a drama of America's intense struggle over climate science.
From March 1 to 18, La MaMa will present Theater Three Collaborative in a new production of 'Extreme Whether,' a 'Cli-Fi' play written and directed by Karen Malpede. The piece juxtaposes psychological and magical realism in a tale of a courageous climate researcher who is defamed by special interests, including his own family. Obie-winner Rocco Sisto heads a cast of six.
