As conceived by Robert Icke, the play weaves a tale of morality, suspense, and controversy, with multiple characters represented by a single actor – Emmy award winning actor Ann Dowd.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is currently working on developing Game of Thrones as a stage play for Broadway, the West End and Australia. Martin is writing the play alongside Duncan MacMillan, and it is set to be directed by Dominic Cooke. The first show is expected to launch in 2023.

On Sunday, March 21, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam presents Oedipus,  starring Hans Kesting and Marieke Heebink (nominated for the Theo d'Or for her role as Jocaste). Directed by British director Robert Icke.

The UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance presents Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya a new adaptation by Robert Icke directed by Emily Moler.

Robert Icke's Almeida Theatre production, The Doctor, will now be postponed until 2021. Juliet Stevenson will reprise her role as Professor Ruth Wolff as previously announced, with further casting to be confirmed in due course.

London's Almeida Theatre has put together a fantastic playlist of monologues from its past productions to keep us entertained at home, including Andrew Scott performing the famous 'To be, or not to be' soliloquy from Shakespeare's Hamlet. Robert Icke directed Scott in the title role at the Almeida, to great acclaim, in 2017.

Sadly, the 2020 Olivier Awards won't be going ahead as planned due to the coronavirus shutdown, although ITV will broadcast a highlights show. Robert Icke, the major talent of British theatre, wrote and directed a sequel to one of the most influential stage plays in history: Nora (A Doll's House) by Henrik Ibsen. Children of Nora premieres on 5 April in Internationaal Theater Amsterdam.

Robert Icke who recently adapted and directed 1984 for Broadway, will direct The Children's Theatre Partnership's (CTP) upcoming production of George Orwell's classic satirical fable, Animal Farm.

The cast has been announced for the world premiere of Bin Juice at VAULT Festival. This all-female dark comedy, written by Cat Kolubayev and directed by Anastasia Bruce-Jones, Assistant Dramaturg of Robert Icke's The Doctor, will star Adeline Waby (Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Apollo Theatre; The Midwife, Acid Rainbow) and Madison Clare (Semi-Detached, BBC; Captain Corelli's Mandolin, UK tour/Harold Pinter Theatre) as Francine and Marla with Helena Antoniou (Call the Midwife, BBC; Trial by Laughter, UK Tour/Watermill Theatre) as Belinda.

Interestingly adapted by Robert Icke, from Arthur Schnitzler's 1912 play, Professor Bernhardi.

As rehearsals for its tour and West End transfer commence, multi-award winning actress Juliet Stevenson jointly wins the acclaimed Best Actress award at this year's Critics' Circle Theatre Awards for her portrayal of Dr Ruth Wolff in director, Robert Icke's (The Wild Duck, Hamlet, Mary Stuart, Oresteia, 1984) sold-out, five-star Almeida Theatre production of The Doctor.

Uncle Vanya opened last night in the West End at the Harold Pinter Theatre! Toby Jones (The Birthday Party, Don't Forget the Driver, Detectorists) stars in the title role of Vanya alongside Richard Armitage (The Crucible, Berlin Station, The Hobbit) as Astrov. Rosalind Eleazar (The Personal History of David Copperfield, Deep Water, The Starry Messenger) plays Yelena, with Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education, Downstate) as Sonya, the Emmy Award-winning Anna Calder-Marshall (LOVE, Evening at the Talk House, Male of the Species) as Nana, the Olivier and Tony-award nominated Dearbhla Molloy (The Ferryman, Dancing at Lughnasa, Juno and the Paycock) as Grandmaman, Peter Wight (The Birthday Party, Hamlet, The Red Lion) as Telegin and Olivier Award-nominated Ciarán Hinds (Translations, Game of Thrones, Girl from the North Country) as Professor Serebryakov.

British director and writer Robert Icke has committed himself to Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, as Ibsen Artist in Residence. This new way of supporting talent is established by the Philip Loubser Foundation.

Tyrone Huntley today announced the nominations for the 20th annual WhatsOnStage Awards via WhatsOnStage's social channels, the only major theatre prize-giving decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves. The announcement of the nominations marks the opening of the final voting stage (until 27 January), with winners announced at the annual Awards Concert held on 1 March 2020 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
