Joshua Boone (Actually at MTC, Network, A Jazzman’s Blues) joins the previously announced Chanté Adams (A Journal for Jordan), Brandon J. Dirden (Jitney at MTC), Adesola Osakalumi (Fela!), and Tony Award winner and five-time Emmy Award nominee Phylicia Rashad (A Raisin in the Sun) to complete the full company.

Thomas Wolfe--famed for his novels including “Look Homeward, Angel”--is also remembered for the quotable title of one of his short stories: “Only the Dead Know Brooklyn.” Judging my weekend at Opera Philadelphia's O19 opera festival, and its two world premieres, DENIS & KATYA and LET ME DIE, he could have also written “Only the Dead Know Philadelphia” (though it might have missed the priceless Brooklyn accents used in the story by this southern writer).
Over 2,200 students have seen GLORIA: A Life, the groundbreaking play about activist and icon Gloria Steinem, thanks to the generosity of Hope-aholics. Named for Steinem, who coined the phrase, the Hope-aholics initiative allows donors to underwrite student tickets so that the next generation of activists can take inspiration from her story. Tony Award-winning producer Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart, Indecent) announced today that GLORIA: A Life has rescheduled its Saturday, January 19 matinee performance in order for the company to join the Women's March on NYC. A performance has been added on Sunday, January 20 at 7pm. The production will perform as scheduled at 8pm on Saturday, January 19.
