Richarda Abrams' new play, 'Big Mama and Me,' explores the intergenerational relationship between a grandmother and granddaughter. Set in the South and Midwest, the play tells the story of Big Mama, a patented inventor and accomplished composer, and the impact she had on those around her. Presented by RPR Productions, the world premiere runs from March 6-9 at the Episcopal Actors Guild in NYC. Featuring music direction by Amina Claudine Myers and co-production by Peggy Abrams.

Four women writers of the Harlem Renaissance meet in 'Telling Tales Out of School' by Wesley Brown, directed by Woodie King, Jr. at Castillo Theatre/ASP. Richarda Abrams new play BETHUNE: Our Black Velvet Rose opened on October 9 at Theaterlab in New York City.
