TIMES 365:24:7 to Run at The Brick Mar. 14 - Apr. 11

Times 365:24:7 is being developed in collaboration with David Giambusso, a freelance reporter for The New York Times and The New Jersey Star-Ledger. In addition, company members have interviewed and visited journalists at various news-making institutions, including The Financial Times, Dan Rather Reports, MSNBC, The New Yorker, Marie Claire and CNN.

Ripe Time Presents FIRE THROWS Beginning 2/18 at 3LD

Ripe Time has announced that it will present the world premiere of Fire Throws, written and directed by Rachel Dickstein, based on Sophocles's Antigone, beginning Wednesday, February 18, at 8pm at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street at Rector Street. Opening night is set for Sunday, February 22 at 8pm. In Fire Throws a contemporary Antigone challenges her past, re-examining her own story of sacrifice through the kaleidoscopic frenzy of a fever dream. Through video projection, live music, and dance-inspired staging, Fire Throws explodes the classic text into a cutting-edge meditation on desire, drive, and what is at stake in breaking the rules. Fire Throws features two Antigones: the one we know from the original story and the 2400-year-old symbol she has become, looking back on her story and searching for the person inside the icon. Antigone's brazen defense of the sanctity of burial takes a new relevance when staged blocks away from ground zero; and Creon's misguided use and abuse of power is a cautionary tale in a world of divisive politics. Ripe Time uses its signature physical and visual story-telling style to re-invigorate a great classic with a contemporary and relevant energy.

Due to the extension of BABY IT'S YOU at the Coast Playhouse, the workshop production of the world premiere play, VERONICA, written by acclaimed playwright and Academy Award-nominee John Patrick Shanley ('Doubt'), directed by Daniel Allen Nelson and starring Livia De Paolis as Veronica will now open on Friday, February 20 and will continue for two weeks through Saturday, February 28 at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Baltimore's newest gang of artists, Nine Imaginary Cows Theater Collective, presents a brand-spanking-new work for the stage: There Have Been Other Men in My Wife's Bed (A Marital Arrangement for 3 Actors), running February 26 through March 7 at Theatre Project (45 West Preston Street, Baltimore). Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8pm for both weeks, with a special 7pm performance on Sunday, March 1. Richard Foreman And John Zorn Team Up At Ontological Theater

This year, Richard Foreman, that shape-shifting shaman, teams up with the equally hard-to-pin-down composer, John Zorn for Astronome: A Night At The Opera at The Ontological Theater at St. Mark's Church beginning February 5th. This is the historic first time collaboration for these two MacArthur geniuses who, individually, have challenged, enlightened and entertained adventurous audiences for years. Film is not in the mix this time around but Foreman's theater machine, with the inclusion of Zorn's invigorating score continues to explore his favorite resource, the special electricity projected by raw human consciousness.

Performance Space 122 presents the world premiere of Death, a dance-theater piece by solo performance artist Sara Juli that addresses the taboo topic of death. After losing her father tragically to cancer, Juli experienced first-hand our culture's inability to deal with death. She was amazed that something inevitable was so uncomfortable for people who, in particular, seemed to struggle to find the right thing to say and do. In this 50-minute solo performance, Juli uses movement, text, song, gesture, sounds, humor and audience interaction to present a reflection on the awkwardness of death. Juli will be six months pregnant during the performance adding a layer of a piece about death while pregnant with life.
