This just in - Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical featuring the songs of singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, will play its final Broadway performance at the Marquis Theatre on Sunday, July 1, 2018, after 29 preview and 124 regular performances.

Robert Taylor, Jr., Rema Webb and Marcus Peña are among Broadway performers, Tony Award honorees-nominees, musicians, recording artists, entertainers, pro athletes, journalists, media personalities and other notables participating in 'PUMP An End To Hunger with the Broadway Brunchtime Series' - A Continuing Season to Help Serve Soup, Sandwiches, Snacks, Sips and Songs on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen (www.holyapostlessoupkitchen.org) located at 296 Ninth Avenue at the corner of West 28th Street in New York City.

New Dramatists, Tony® Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, just honored Tony®and Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington at its 69th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. Washington, currently starring on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, directed by George C. Wolfe, received New Dramatists' 2018 Distinguished Achievement Award. Tributes to Mr. Washington and performances were presented by three-time Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis with bassist Noah Jackson, Tony®Award-winners George C. Wolfe and Stephen McKinley Henderson, Constanza Romero (August Wilson Estate), and Pulitzer Prize finalist and New Dramatists resident playwright Kristoffer Diaz (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity).

New York's acclaimed Classic Stage Company recently marked its 50th birthday with a gala celebration on Monday evening, April 23 at Bohemian National Hall recognizing Artistic Director John Doyle and Board Chair Lynn Angelson. Check out the photos below!

I am so fortunate that I live, work, and cover theater in a town like New York. It never fails to surprise me at how much talent is brimming over in New York. When I meet young actresses like Stephanie Courtney aka Sayonne, I am very excited to talk to them, because they are really embarking on a wonderful journey, especially when they are as grounded as this young diva to be. Many times, I feel like the proud and fun fairy godfather to so many of these performers.

The evening will feature special guest performances from Doyle's New York career including Cynthia Erivo, Judy Kuhn, and Donna McKechnie.

Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party), Brittain Ashford (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) and Rema Webb (Escape to Margaritaville, The Color Purple) will be the featured vocalists in the April 22nd installment of 'Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz Session,' the popular series which presents In Transit composer Kaplan's innovative jazz interpretations of current Broadway favorites.

Welcome to Margaritaville, the island paradise where city folk get away from it all, and the locals get into the kind of trouble you can almost always sweet talk your way out of. Artists for World Peace, a nonprofit organization, recently hosted its 7th annual Broadway event at The Cutting Room. The show was produced by Broadway's own Sharone Sayegh and Wendy Black-Nasta, the founder of AFWP. Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical featuring the songs of iconic singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) with a star-studded celebration of the eagerly anticipated musical's Broadway premiere.

Jimmy Buffett and Escape to Margaritaville will take over NBC's "Today" when the cast of the new Broadway musical performs two numbers written by the iconic singer, songwriter, and author. In the video below, Paul Alexander Nolan and Alison Luff will lead the company in a medley of "A Pirate Looks at Forty" and "One Particular Harbor."

Jimmy Buffett and Escape to Margaritaville took over NBC's 'Today' when the cast of the new Broadway musical performs two numbers written by the iconic singer, songwriter, and author. Cast member Andre Ward and the full company performed the classic song 'Volcano.'
