Theatre Communications Group has announced that its 2019 Gala will be directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer and feature performances from Oklahoma!'s Ali Stroker, Hadestown's Patrick Page and Eva Noblezada, and Angels in America's Beth Malone.
Executive producer and playwright Jordan Jaffe, along with co-producer Rebecca Crigler (Mike Birbiglia's The New One, Chris Gethard: Career Suicide), are pleased to announce the world premiere of Jaffe's new eco-comedy Whirlwind. The second entry in the playwright's 'Energy' series (following up the world premiere production of Crude), concerning the dirty dealings and messy relationships at a clean energy wind farm, Whirlwind begins previews at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St., between Ave. A and Ave. B) on January 23 toward an opening on January 28, with a limited engagement scheduled through February 10. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.
Everyone's favorite characters from Cleveland Street are back for their 11th production with Cleveland Play House (CPH) during the 2018 holiday season. A Christmas Story will once again delight Cleveland audiences with the story you know and love, based on the original motion picture that was filmed in Cleveland. CPH's production of A Christmas Story has quickly become an annual holiday tradition for families of all generations. Each year, these performances attract thousands of new guests to live theatre at Cleveland Play House.
