Leading Swing Band THE HOT TODDIES Performs At Lincoln Center Next Week, July 6

As they prepare for their Lincoln Center debut at “Summer for the City,” the Hot Toddies Jazz Band announced today the upcoming release of its debut full-length eponymous album. Hailed as New York City's leading hot jazz and swing band, the Hot Toddies recorded 11 fan-favorite, fun-loving tracks imbibing the high-and-not-so-dry spirits of the Prohibition Era.

Tina Turner Has Died At Age 83

Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.  With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model. 

Mount Wilson Observatory to Present First Classical Concert of Season in June

Mount Wilson Observatory, the scientific marvel where humankind discovered its place in the universe, has announced the second date in its Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome six-month series, to take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023. The concert series is curated by Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan, and the performances are presented inside the spectacular vaulted dome of the 100-inch telescope.

TOPDOG/UNDERDOG Closes Out Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2022-23 Season

Suzan-Lori Parks’ Topdog/Underdog, which won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in Drama and, in 2018, was voted by The New York Times drama critics as the best play of the last 25 years, closes out Palm Beach Dramaworks’ 2022-23 season. The play opens on May 26 (8pm) and runs through June 11, with specially priced previews on May 24 and 25. Belinda “Be” Boyd directs. 

Susan Tedeschi Will Headline Indianola's Club Ebony Grand Reopening

 An artist who felt a strong connection to B.B. King—and whose guitar skills King greatly admired—will be the headliner for the grand reopening of Indianola’s historic Club Ebony on June 1-3, 2023. Susan Tedeschi and her husband, Derek Trucks, also performed in 2021 at the opening of the B.B. King Museum and Interpretive Center’s Expansion and Memorial Courtyard to pay homage to one of their music mentors.

The Atlanta Opera Announces Teams For 96-HOUR OPERA PROJECT, June 9-12

The Atlanta Opera has announced that five creative teams have been selected to participate in the second annual 96-Hour Opera Project, a composition competition and showcase that pairs composers and librettists to write ten-minute operas. Bringing their completed works to Atlanta, the teams will workshop and rehearse their productions over four days from June 9–12, with travel, housing, singers, pianists and rehearsal space provided.

The Indiana Blind Children's Foundation Welcomes Acclaimed Musician A.J. Croce for the 2023 No Limits Celebration

The Indiana Blind Children's Foundation (IBCF) welcomes acclaimed musician A.J. Croce to Indianapolis on Saturday, July 22 for the foundation's annual No Limits Celebration. Held in the historic 1930s-style auditorium at Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI), the performance will be preceded by a pre-concert reception featuring local jazz artist, Reggie Bishop, and a meal from the Jazz Kitchen — all of which is included with the price of admission.
