Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Happy Friday! Finish off your week by catching up on the latest Broadway news!

Broadway Sessions recently held its 3rd annual Black History Month celebration. We invited an all star roster of Broadway talent to share songs and stories reflecting the influence, impact and legacy of black artists on Broadway and beyond. HOLY MOLY! This was one of the most incredible nights of music we have enjoyed. Beyond that it was moving, hilarious and profound. Enjoy these highlights from Broadway vets Antoine  L Smith, Soarer-Joye Ross, Storm Lever, Brennyn Lark, Judith Franklin, Phoenix Best, Elijah Ahmad Lewis, Tiana Okoye, Michel Demby Cain, Imari Hardon, Avery Smith, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Quentin Earl Darrington, Jennie Harney Fleming, John Edwards, Laurissa 'Lala' Romain, Shonica Gooden and Emme Kemp. We also enjoyed performances from 'Rising Stars' Richard Baskin Jr. and Aneesa Folds. OH, and maybe just an impromptu pre show performance by Tony-winning legend FAITH PRINCE! It was a good night.

Stephen DeAngelis continues his ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of AT THIS PERFORMANCE... to be held on Monday, March 4th at The Green Room 42.

Broadway talents including Mallory Bechtel (Dear Evan Hansen), Jason Gotay (Bring It On), Isaac Powell (Once on This Island), and Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls) complete the lineup for the next installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, honoring the English singer-songwriter Adele. Current cast members from Broadway shows including Come From Away, King Kong, and The Book of Mormon will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the award winning singer, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

King Kong has just dropped an all new TV spot! The commercial features footage from the show, including, of course, the iconic puppet.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway cast twice monthly. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida, Footloose, Dance Captain Dance Attack web series) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.

Stephen DeAngelis continues his ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of AT THIS PERFORMANCE… to be held on Monday, February 4th at The Green Room 42, Green Fig, Fourth Floor, Yotel NYC, 570 Tenth Avenue (at 42nd Street), New York, NY 10036 at 7 PM. On this very special evening, the series will reach the milestone of having celebrated the talents of over 1000 diffeent peformers in its history. Hosted by series Producing Artistic Director and Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, the popular series allows performers to showcase their versatility and share anecdotes about their experiences.

The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series will continue on March 4 at 8pm, honoring singer-songwriter Adele with a bombshell cast of Broadway stars including Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon), Bonnie Milligan (Head Over Heels), Wesley Taylor(SpongeBob SquarePants), and Jessica Vosk (Wicked). The one-night-only concert will feature completely new arrangements of the hits of the English singer, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

Tickets for King Kong are now on sale through September 1, 2019. The new Broadway musical is playing at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) where it opened on Thursday, November 8 (previews began October 5, 2018).

What a gay ol' time! Michelle, with the insanely talented Joshua Stephen Kartes on the keys, will give you a night you WONT soon forget! They l'll take your favorite Broadway hits and turn them into new Jazz standards! With very special guests, infamous instagram darling @inappropriatepatti, AKA Jonathan Hoover and The Cher Show and Kinky Boot's own Blaine Krauss!! Full of shots, laughter, tears, and several improved musical moments! These two are sure to lift your spirits and rock your socks off! Directed by Mitchell Walker.

On Sunday, November 11th, Feinstein's/54 Below celebrated the composing debut of Ben Caplan with his show Geeks, Misfits, and Nobodies.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, while Channing Tatum's Magic Mike Live has already taken over Las Vegas and London, a musicalized version of the show is taking more steps towards Broadway. The musical, from creative team Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, recently wrapped a workshop in LA.

Witchery is happening in Manhattan and we just happen to be soaking up every spooky moment as the Sanderson Sisters made their much-anticipated cabaret return last night at (le) Poisson Rouge. I Put A Spell On You: The Return of The Sanderson Sisters was everything Halloween and Broadway lovers alike could have hoped for. Full of laugh out loud moments, hip hop dancing, special guest appearances and a witches medley for the ages. This cabaret was true comical absurdity at its finest.
