Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance will celebrate the company's 24th anniversary season with the showing of two of Cherylyn Lavagnino's artistic works, Tales of Hopper and The Winter's Tale, at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 W 37th Street, in New York City.
Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, will present the world premiere of Third Bird, with a libretto and direction by Isaac Mizrahi, music by composer Nico Muhly (played by Ensemble Signal and conducted by Brad Lubman), choreography by John Heginbotham, and lighting by Brandon Stirling Baker.

Dance Lab New York (DLNY) is halfway through its Lab Cycle in collaboration with The
Joyce Theater Foundation supporting female choreographers of color in ballet. Over the past two weeks, Amy Hall Garner and Preeti Vasudevan, have been exploring the classical and neoclassical ballet idioms with a company of eight professional dancers, supported by the DLNY Lab Cycle grant in space provided by The Joyce Theater Foundation. DLNY provided each of them with 30 hours of incubation, a stipend, eight paid professional dancers, a rehearsal director, insurances, and administrative support from DLNY staff and Founding Artistic Director, Josh Prince.

Choreographer Lydia Johnson will present her LYDIA JOHNSON DANCE in a program of new and repertory works to music that ranges from Philip Glass to the trio sonatas of Handel. The season's premiere will be Undercurrent, a group work for the Company's eight resident dancers joined by four apprentices, and set to music by one of the choreographer's favorite composers, Henryk Gorecki. Special guest for the season will be STEPHEN HANNA, former principal dancer with New York City Ballet. DEBORAH WINGERT, former 15-year member of New York City Ballet, returns as company ballet mistress.
The Works & Process Rotunda Projects Initiative Gala at the Guggenheim Museum raised more than $450,000 in commissioning funds for the Works & Process Rotunda Projects program.
