Today Broadway is seeing more and more revivals of successful musicals from the golden age of musicals of decades past. During the 21st century, very few fresh and timely musicals that have the potential to become classics are being presented on the stage. Fly More Than You Fall, a brand-new musical production, which intends to be gracing the stages of Broadway soon, hopes to fall into that category ‚Äď classic, evergreen musical production. Fly More Than You Fall will be presenting an industry reading of the production on May 9 at 2pm and May 10 at 11am. Fly More Than You Fall tells the inspiring story of a young teenage girl, Malia who undergoes a frightening journey.

Directed by faculty member Thom Miller, this production brings a fresh take to Shakespeare's timeless classic about a pair of star-crossed lovers. 'Romeo and Juliet' previews on Feb. 14 and opens on Feb. 15 in the Archbold Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex, 820 E. Genesee St.

Syracuse University's Department of Drama tackles a seminal work of modern Russian theater as it presents "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov. First performed In St. Petersburg in 1896, "The Seagull" famously flopped on its opening night and nearly drove Chekhov to abandon playwriting. In 1898, the famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky staged the play at The Moscow Art Theatre where it proved a resounding success and helped establish the company's and the playwright's reputations.
