According to Deadline, actor Ralph Fiennes is set to star as composer George Frederick Handel in the new dramatic comedy film HALLELUJAH! The movie is set to be directed by Chris Addison (VEEP), with the script from Jon Croker and Nicholas Adams. It is produced by Gina Carter and Andrew Eaton. The Original Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal will present the first ever revival of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART directed by Philip Franks and starring Matthew Kelly as W. H. Auden/Fitz and David Yelland as Benjamin Britten/Henry. The tour begins on 30 August 2018 at York Theatre Royal.

The 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Alice Birch for her play "Anatomy of a Suicide". Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Prize is awarded annually to recognize women from around the world who have written works of outstanding quality for the English-speaking theatre. The Winner will receive $25,000 and a signed and numbered print by renowned artist Willem de Kooning.

Lincoln Theater and Festival Napa Valley will co-present the Napa Valley gala premiere screening of Andre - The Voice of Wine on Saturday, April 7, at 3pm at Lincoln Theater in Yountville. With its recent world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, this feature-length documentary tells the story of Andre Tchelistcheff, the legendary winemaker known as the "Dean of American Winemakers." The film screening will include a panel moderated by director Mark Tchelistcheff. A VIP wine tasting reception will follow featuring wineries influenced by the late Tchelistcheff, including Grgich Hills Estate, Rodney Strong Vineyards, Jordan Winery, Alquimista Cellars, Staglin Family Vineyard and Beaulieu Vineyard.

Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live have a full line-up of top London stage productions set for U.S. cinema audiences in early 2018. Newly added titles include director Nicholas Hytner's Bridge Theatre production of 'Julius Caesar' (March 22) and Rory Kinnear's return to the National Theatre stage as the title role in 'Macbeth' (May 17). On 9 January, the first day that same-sex couples can formally marry in Australia, Sydney Festival will host a giant wedding reception for Sydney to celebrate all the couples officiating their love and commitment through marriage. The reception offers the opportunity to bathe in a bright pink swimming pool, entry to dance up a storm in JOF's 10 Minute Dance Parties and the opportunity to play 'wedding singer', or belt out love songs, on the world's first Karaoke Carousel, all free of charge. Carriageworks today unveiled a major new commission by renowned German artist Katharina Grosse of a site-specific installation representing the third in the Schwartz Carriageworks series of major international projects. The world premiere of the work titled The Horse Trottted Another Couple of Metres, Then it Stopped is presented free to the public at Carriageworks from 6 January as part of Sydney Festival 2018 and continues until 8 April 2018. Grosse's exciting new work envelopes Carriageworks, responding to the unique industrial architecture and grand scale of the heritage building.
