The Hearth (Artistic Directors Julia Greer and Emma Miller) will extend the World Premiere of Gracie Gardner's female coming of age story, ATHENA, directed by Emma Miller (NYIT nominated director of For Annie) at JACK (505 ½ Waverly Avenue between Fulton and Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn) for additional performances on Tuesday, March 20, Wednesday, March 21, Thursday, March 22, Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24 at 8pm. The original run of the production, which is now sold out, was scheduled for February 15-March 3. Tickets ($18 under 30; $25 over 30) are available in advance at www.artful.ly/store/events/14073 . 

On Sunday, at its annual Symposium for the dance field, Dance/NYC announced the launch of a new initiative to extend the role of dance artistry in fostering the inclusion, integration, and human rights of the more than 3 million immigrants in the New York City metropolitan area, while shaping urgent public discussion about changing demographics and immigrant affairs. As part of this initiative, Dance/NYC unveils foundational research, New York City's Foreign-Born Dance Workforce Demographics (Dance.NYC/ForeignBornWorkforce2018) as well as online information resources available on the Dance/NYC website; and announces a free, day-long convening on September 21, 2018, presented with the New York City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) and the Queens Theatre.

Mercury Theatre Colchester and TBO Productions today announce the world premiere of the brand-new musical - Pieces of String with book, music and lyrics by Gus Gowland. The production, directed by Ryan McBryde and designed by 2017 Linbury Prize Finalist Fin Redshaw, opens on 27 April at the Mercury, with previews from 20 April and runs until 5 May.
