Mirvish has brought a truly spellbinding production to the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre this season. After over two years sitting empty, the theatre was packed on an opening weekend showing of the latest show in their 2022 season: the Canadian premiere of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD.

Awake at Last released their new song titled 'Living Fiction' to all digital outlets! Produced by Kile Odell with post production by Skold (Former Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, etc), the hard-hitting track contains plenty of angst at the current state of the world. The late Nell Gifford, co-founder of Gifford’s Circus, wrote that 'a good circus is a sublimely existential thing, living acutely and only for the present moment.' And so it is with ¡Carpa! (Spanish for tent), the company’s joyful and life-affirming show currently sited in Chiswick House’s gardens. From magnificent clowning to acrobatics aloft a horse, knife-throwing to hair-hanging, this show has something for everyone.

What did our critic think of GYPSY at The Studio Theatre? Theresa thought the show had excellent singing, dancing, and took the mother/daughter relationships to the next level.

HGTV’s popular mother/daughter duo Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine are back in a new 14-episode season of HGTV’s hit series Good Bones. Mina, a real estate agent and mom of two, and Karen, a lawyer, will continue to buy more old properties in Indianapolis, demo them down to the studs and renovate them into dazzling family homes.

Three women gather in a waiting room to receive the results of their genetic testing. Through palpable tension, they (over)share and confess their deepest secrets, regrets, and hopes. From desperately wanting children, having four of them, or never having been the motherly type, their lives are ruled by their gender.

Opening tonight at Darkhorse Theater in Nashville is That Woman – The Monologue Show, which explores the stories of women who involved or rumored-to-be involved with President John F. Kennedy. Co-written by Nashville-area women playwrights and actors, it is performed by a diverse ensemble of actors who bring the women to life “in a fascinating look at a lesser-known aspect of history and a thought-provoking and entertaining evening of theatre.”

When the movie Frozen came out, I was in New York City, and the most fascinating part about that time in Disney movie history was how Frozen was so excellently merchandised. Elsa and Anna dolls were on shelves everywhere, and little did anyone know in those early days how big of a hit the movie, and now the musical would become. When the decision to bring the movie to musical life came to fruition, I had my trepidations, but after discussing the production with the talented, athletic, and down-to-earth actors that play the lovable reindeer, Sven, it only heightens the excitement that Houston will be able to witness the incredible talents of not only Collin Baja and Evan Strand. These two wonderful actors are double cast in the touring production of Disney's Frozen because of the physical demands of the role. I personally can't wait to witness the athletic mastery of these two actors in one of the most iconic Disney musicals of our age.
