DreamWrights Center for Community Arts kicks off its 2019 Season - Celebrating Life - with the comedy The Liar on Feb. 1.

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is excited to announce its second production of its 2018/19 season in its new home at 456 Main Street!  The 2018/19 season will continue with Tony Kushner's The Illusion starring Dave Hayes, Lisa Vitrano, Patrick Cameron, Cassie Cameron, Rolando Gomez, David Marciniak, Sara Kow-Falcone and Ray Boucher. The production team includes Lynne Koscielniak (set design), John Rickus (light design), Jenna Damberger (costume design), Emily Powrie (props), Katie Menke (sound design) and Adam Rath (fight choreography).

The Workmen's Circle presented activist and playwright Tony Kushner, best known for his play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, with its Activism and Jewish Culture Award at the organization's annual Winter Benefit-Setting the Stage for Change-on Monday, December 10, 2018.

Wright State University Theatre brings you the marvelous adaptation by David Ives of Pierre Corneille's riotous comedy, THE LIAR, which runs November 30th  - December 9th  in the Herbst Theatre.

On December 10, The Workmen's Circle will present activist and playwright Tony Kushner, best known for his play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, with its Activism and Jewish Culture Award at the organization's annual Winter Benefit-Setting the Stage for Change-at The Prince George Ballroom, 15 East 27th Street.

Artists Repertory Theatre presents Everybody, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama. The production is co-directed by Jessica Wallenfels and Damaso Rodriguez, and is an inventive twist on a medieval morality play. Everybody runs from November 25 through December 30 on the Alder Stage.

Lantern Theater Company continues its 25th anniversary season with the Philadelphia premiere of The Heir Apparent by David Ives, adapted from Jean-Francois Regnard's 1708 comedy Le Legataire universel. Lantern resident director M. Craig Getting will direct a cast that includes Lantern veterans Chris Anthony, Leonard C. Haas, Adam Hammet, Dave Johnson, Mary Martello, Lee Minora, and Ruby Wolf. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to request tickets for opening night on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. by contacting Anne Shuff at ashuff@lanterntheater.org. Westport Country Playhouse stages the lavish, large-cast comedy, "A Flea in Her Ear," newly adapted by David Ives from the original by Georges Feydeau, and directed by Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director.  Fresh from a sold-out run by Delaware's Resident Ensemble Players (REP), a professional theater located at the University of Delaware, the co-production with the REP runs in Westport July 10 - 28.  

South Bend Civic Theatre has announced details for the 2019 Season: Truth Lies Within. Tickets go on sale July 30th.

Three years ago, this reviewer suggested that it was time to rediscover French theatre with the Westport Country Playhouse's production of David Ives's transplantation of Pierre Corneille's 1643 comedy, The Liar (Le Menteur). Happily, Mark Lamos, artistic director of the WCP, now brings us Ives's adaptation of Georges Feydeau's 1907 farce, A Flea in Her Ear (La puce a l'oreille).
