There's so much to look forward to every December in New York. The tree going up at Rockefeller Center; ice skating in Bryant Park; gorgeous window displays at Macy's and Bloomingdales. For many Broadway fans, the Gypsy of the Year concert and a new Carols for a Cure album mark the start of the holiday season. For me, it really feels like Christmas when I receive my favorite pre-holiday gift: the annual Broadway Cares snow globe. Behold, the 2015 globe:

KINKY BOOTS star Wayne Brady surprised today's audience at BC/EFA's 27th annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR competition with guest rappers Christopher Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda from this season's Broadway sensation HAMILTON. The trio showed off their improvisational chops, topping each other in a rap battle based on words provided by the audience, including chicken, sarsaparilla, succubus, tsunami, scaffolding and condom. Brady and KINKY BOOTS took top honors for best onstage presentation. Check it out below!
BC/EFA to Host PURE MOTION Benefit from Choreographer Ray Mercer

Choreographer Ray Mercer, winner of Joffrey Ballet's Choreographers of Color Award, will present Pure Motion (#puremotion), an evening of his dances produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The evening will feature two performances at 7 pm and 8:30 pm on Monday, February 29, 2016, at The Ailey Citigroup Theatre in New York City.
BC/EFA Receives $1.65 Million in Total This Year from Fred Ebb Foundation

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) has announced that its 2015 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.65 million dollars, bringing the foundation's total contribution to BC/EFA to $11.65 million since it began eleven years ago. The foundation, which is funded by royalties from the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb's vast catalogue of work, makes an annual donation to BC/EFA.
